Charming Stay by the Castle – Warm, Welcoming & Perfect Location

We stayed here in early March and truly loved our experience. The location is perfect — right by the castle with dedicated parking, which makes everything so easy. The views are absolutely beautiful and make the entire stay feel special.
Our room was exactly what we needed — super clean, comfortable, and well-appointed with all the basic amenities (hair dryer, shampoo, soap). The bed was very comfortable, the pillows were great, and the heater worked wonderfully since it was still chilly this time of year. We slept so well — it felt quiet, safe, and peaceful at night. Our room also had a lovely view, which made mornings extra special.
From the moment we arrived, the hospitality stood out. They gave us tea upon arrival and kindly took our luggage to our room. After dinner in the castle area, we stopped by reception and enjoyed a late-night cappuccino by the wood fire — it was so cozy and welcoming.
Breakfast the next morning was truly a highlight. Our wonderful hostess blessed us with so much beautiful and delicious food — hot coffees, fresh fruit, vegetables, feta, pastries — all served with the fire going in the background. It was such a lovely and generous breakfast, and it was included!
If you find yourself in Berat, this is a wonderful place to stay. Warm hospitality, beautiful views, clean and comfortable rooms — everything you need for a charming Albanian experience.

The best location!

Te Gjyshi is family-run hotel. Very simple, but a with a good room and bathroom.
It is strategically located at walking distance from the Berat Castle (up the hill).
And, most importantly, it has parking!

Amazimg view

I was here with my family this march in 2025 and it was absolutly the best place i stayd in Albania. Our room was with balcony city and castle view. the restaurant has god food a terrace with magnific view and the traditional breakfast was very good.

Very nice surprise

Hotel familial. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are very clean. The bedding is good. The view is beautiful.
Breakfast is good and hearty. We also have lunch on site very good traditional Albanian cuisine.
I recommend we had a nice time
