Perfect location and hotel. We are very happy with our choice of hotel, 10/10
We visited Vila Kalcuni in June 2026 and were pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. It was immaculately clean, very modern and vibrant and always smelt and looked so fresh. The experience as a whole was generally lovely, and relaxed, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
Special thank you to Christina at Breakfast who looked after us well and always made sure we had everything we needed. She is a lovely person and an asset to the hotel. The breakfast room was always so clean and fresh with nice decor.
We booked a Queen deluxe suite with partial sea view and it was nice and spacious with a double and single bed.
I think this time of year was a good time to visit as it wasn’t too busy at the beginning of the week (last week of June), only towards the end it started to become more busy.
The pool area is nice and relaxed, staff are friendly, I would imagine in peak season it gets busy quite quickly but at this time of year we were always able to get sunbeds by the pool. The beach is easily accessible and near, just opposite the hotel - I think the sun beds were charged at 1000lek for 2 per day, but we did not need to do this as we had sunbeds by the pool.
The only thing I will say is the access to the hotel is down a steep hill and if you are on foot with a large suitcase it can be quite difficult to lug everything around if mobility is an issue. The port is only a 5 minute walk away so a taxi is not necessary really.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Vila Kalcuni, it is clean, modern and very niche. We have even talked about returning next year

Disappointing experience – Definitely not up to 4-star standards
The Good:
Location: The location near the port and the promenade was great and very convenient.
The Bad:
Breakfast: Horrible overall—extremely limited selection (just one type of ham and one type of cheese), stale pastries, and coffee served straight from a thermos.
Pool & Beach: The pool water was way too warm every day, offering no refreshment at all. The "private" beach isn't private at all, as anyone can access it.
Room Amenities: Basic housekeeping was lacking; they did not provide bottled water in the room nor did they refill the soap.
Service & Staff: The staff clearly lacks proper training for a 4-star hotel establishment.
Parking: Parking is complete chaos and poorly organized.
Overall, a major disappointment. I would not recommend this hotel until they make serious improvements to their service and facilities.

Very nice place to stay with a slightly upscale vibe. However, there were strange occurrences that were somewhat annoying. Upon check in, the older man at the desk would not look up from his phone to greet us. After arriving from a long travel day, we had to use the restroom, so we went to search for it since he completely ignored our presence. My friend went and used the bathroom and came back, still no greeting. Then I went to the bathroom and came back and since he was still staring at his phone I finally asked, can you please assist us? He looked up and said he was dealing with a client. I suppose the clients that were standing right in front of him weren’t as important as the person he was texting on his phone. The other thing that made zero sense (and that was not disclosed to us when booking or when checking in) is that the pool closes at 6:00 PM every day… I booked this place specifically to have access to a pool, but it closed so early that by the time we got back from our daytime adventures we were never able to use it. Other than the check in experience and the pool restrictions, the property was beautiful and the rest of the staff was very nice, so I would recommend this to fellow travelers.

Property is new, breakfast food is low quality, you have to pay extra if you want a espresso or cappuccino. One night we didn’t have hot water in the shower. Staff said it would take 15 minutes to solve, but it took one hour.

A nice hotel .. good location... however the breakfast is awful.. the service is absolutely nonsense.
