Expectation vs reality

We booked a quadruple room seeing the photos that are on the web and our surprise was that they tell us that there are two types of rooms and we touched the scary... go carefully nobody warns you of which one you choose and once there we could no longer change. MISLEADING ADVERTISING

Fine but they take time to serve

Well-crafted food but they are understaffed and took a long time to serve.
It took us two hours to eat and an hour to serve ourselves
Good menu does not include drinks
With more staff would be perfect because the dining room with terrace and stunning views

Don't believe the website

We stayed at the Hotel Pradet for 2 nights during a walk across Andorra.
The good stuff - the friendly receptionist during the afternoon/evening, who was also the bar-lady, the view from the bar terrace, the breakfast (including gluten free options if you ask) and the dinners. The bathroom in our room seemed to have been recently modernised, which was nice. Having a bar in the hotel was also useful for somewhere to go and do, as there's nothing much else!
The less good stuff:
- there's nothing to do in El Serrat or the hotel! The website suggests there's a games room and billiards in the bar - there isn't, which was a disappointment.
- the website suggests 'delicious grilled meat, Andorran typical gastronomy and other foods from the Pyrenees' but that is misleading. The food was fine, tasty and sufficient, but the description is totally over-selling.
- other than the bathroom, the room and general hotel décor and style was dated and needs to be brought into the 2020s.
So, overall, it was ok and probably hits the price point.

To absolutely avoid

Reservation made for a double room, we found ourselves in a crappy twin room, being told that the hotel was full (while the next day another employee told us that it was not full).
I said a rotten room, just renovated in a hurry to hide the poverty that was nevertheless very present, with furniture dating from Methuselah.
The view out the window, absolutely magnificent: No view, but a wall. Oh yes, also an oil tank on the side and piping. In short, a real prison room.
Impossible to sleep because of no sound insulation. You can hear everything that happens in the hallway and in the 3 closest bedrooms. We live to the rhythm of slamming doors, running water and bars of soap falling into neighboring showers that make you jump.
As incredible as it may seem, there is no power outlet in the room. Only 1 in the bathroom. When asking at reception, we were told that all of them are like that. I can't believe it. And we also say that we don't have any power strips or extension cords to lend us.
A light globe on the bedroom ceiling with around fifty dead flies in it.
In the morning when we left we of course didn't say anything (because it would have been useless) and strangely also the receptionist didn't ask us how the night had gone.
Parking is certainly free, but along the road, and when there is no space (which is always the case when arriving late) it is in a public car park about a hundred meters away.
For the deposit, no prepayment authorization was made on a bank card, the receptionist simply took down the numbers of my bank card. How much would she have been able to withdraw without the customer being informed and what means of recourse in the event of a problem? This is why this practice is illegal (in France).

MISLEADING ADVERTISING. DEPLORABLE

I don't want to offend sensibilities. Disastrous experience! The hotel offers a service of 10 and does not reach 3. The receptionist is a pedant and smart. Then she wants to be nice, but because you have made things clear to her. Don't be fooled by the rooms, the photos are precarious. Little lighting, lamps and curtains are falling apart from how old they are and they have a living room that they sell as the living room of the Palace of Versailles and it looks more like a funeral home room. The food - fair buffet, little variety and tasteless. The staff is very bitter and has very little desire for anything, it would be better if they stayed at home. The only thing that makes them bill is because they have a comfortable terrace, and the location is very good. But in summary the hotel in general gets a score from 1 to 10, I give it a 3 and I'm taking a risk…
