Charming Townhouse, Gourmet Treats, and Insider Tips in BA

I cannot recommend Le Petite Palaise highly enough! This boutique townhouse is a true gem — polished wood floors, wrought iron window details, beautiful artwork, and charming skeleton keys create a warm, unique atmosphere. The owner goes above and beyond: each morning there were fresh baked goods, including sourdough bread, croissants, homemade jams, and yogurt. Even more impressive, he provided a personal map of the “who’s who” in Buenos Aires restaurants — incredibly helpful for exploring the city. The home also includes three lovable, perfectly behaved cats, who add to the charm without any trouble. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and would return in a heartbeat — a genuinely special Buenos Aires bed and breakfast experience!

The perfect start to our holiday in Argentina!

So pleased that we decided to spend the first two nights of our Argentine holiday at Gilles’ Le Petit Palais. We arrived late at night and were shown to our room by Gilles. After a good night’s sleep we went up to a breakfast laid out for us on a large table. There was bread, croissants, jams, dulce de leche, yougurt - all home made. Gilles made us scrambled eggs while we chatted to the other guests. Over breakfast Gilles gave us lots of tips and insights about Buenos Aires and Argentina - he is French but has lived in BA for (I think he said) 8 years. After we had eaten he gave us a personal overview of his recommendations for restaurants and bars and marked them on a map which we used throughout our stay. Even two weeks later we were still deciding where to eat based on “where did Gilles recommend?”
The building is a tall townhouse with lots of stairs so it won’t be suitable for everyone. If you want a big impersonal hotel then this is probably not for you but for a warm welcome and lots of personal tips on exploring this fun city Le Petit Palais is unbeatable!

Sweet little intimate hotel in a nice location--great breakfasts

Some people like big anonymous hotels and they have their place, but if you want something intimate, Le Petit Palais is really sweet. Nice and safe location between Palermo and Almagro, with a fair amount of street life and convenient to lots of buses. Pretty rooms. But the best were the breakfasts with lots of fresh bread, fruit, and eggs, and excellent conversation. The owner Gille, was away, and so a friend of his Ode, was in charge, and she was so incredibly nice and helpful in suggesting places to go and even hooking me up with a friend who was a fellow journalist interested in some of the same political issues. Gille (and Ode and Santiago who helps) speak fluent English and French as well as Spanish, and it just feels really homey.

100% recommended

Ideally located, tastefully furnished, the Petit Palais is an atypical hotel that we recommend 100%.
The welcome is exceptional, delicious breakfasts with homemade bread and brioches.
Thank you to Ode for his advice and involvement in the success of our stay.

good location, lovely host

our host Gilles was very kind and absolutely went the extra mile to help us out. He gave us great suggestions of where to visit over breakfast. Our late evening flight out of BA was cancelled and so we came back unexpectedly for one more night and he got up very early the next morning to see us off. The accommodation is cosy with lots of character. Location was good for eating out and evening buzz.
