A pleasant, well-located place to stay and meet people

This hostel is well-located near restaurants and a the city's biggest grocery/variety store. The private, air-conditioned room I stayed in provided for comfortable sleep. The hostel had an especially diverse clientele with guests of all ages. Although this is not a party hostel, the setup made it very easy to socialize.

Covers all the basics.

It's really not bad. Dorms were spacious enough, lockers were failry large. The upper part of the buk beds were a bit lower than most, so don't sit up too fast! There is lots of common space, indoors, on the patio, or the gardened back yard. Breakfast was a bit on the skimpy side, but included in the price. There is a supermarket across the street, and public squares are just a few minute's walk. Shopping streets and the market are also within walking distance. The kitchen is mostly in good shape, but for some reason the pots, pans, cutlery etc were a bit of a mess. Beer and soft drinks were available at reasonable prices. The wifi was sometimes ok, sometimes not. Bathrooms were solid- I liked how the showers had a raised 'curb' which kept the water inside. Why don't more places have these? Anyhow, aside from the nice back yard, the Alamo is not the most exciting hostel I've stayed at but it's clean, safe, and well located. If all you need is a place to eat, sleep, and relax the Alamo should suit you fine.

Good location and nice dorms

I stayed in a 4 bed female dorm for 3 nights. The dorms are nice, light and pretty specious and each bed has a big locker for all your stuff. The location is great, just two blocks from the main square at Plaza Independencia. There is also a garden, which is nice to hang out in and the staff are really helpful in organising tours. The three things that really need looking at are: the bathrooms, which are in dire need of updating, and really tiny; the breakfast, which is very basic; and the kitchen facilities, which are tiny and limited

Wonderful Stay in Hostel Alamo

Everything you can want from a hostel. We shared a double room which was clean, and comfy and had a bathroom inside. It also had space heaters which were great for the chilly nights. The location is superb with a Carrefour supermarket around the corner. There was a kitchen available to cook your own meals. The front desk staff were super helpful with advice, tour options, and restaurant suggestions. They also took our laundry and returned it to us the next day which was very convenient. I would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Mendoza.

Great comfortable Hostel with amazing breakfast

Very comfortable, friendly Hostel, with a really nice Garden and also close to the center. Quiet and good bedrooms and the most amazing breakfast i had so far in whole South America. They even had pancakes, cereals, different typed of bread, cake, fruits, joghurt...so definitly worth to pay a little bit more than on other hostel to tread yourself good!!! Highly recommended.
