Basic but comfortable
Wine Aparts is in a safe neighbourhood, a short walk into town, and close to a number of bus lines. The receptionists were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was basic but plentiful. The wi-fi was strong. The room was comfortable - the only downside was that in our room the shower did not have a shower curtain, so the floor would get wet. But other than that, it is good value for money and we would definitely stay there again.

A mess of apart
It's the worst apart we ever went to. The same person who greets you at reception is the one who cleans the whole hotel. And it is only available until 2pm. Then a man who barely sees you tells you to send WhatsApp to the owner's number.
Very little communication between them, they do not know when you have to check in or check out. Nobody knows anything.
The horrible apartment, covered the Bacha of the kitchen, we could not use it for a full day.
The bathroom had no carpet so you could dry your feet when you got out of the shower. And the shower a mess, has no pressure and hardly comes out dropwise (in the middle of winter)
I wouldn't come back and I don't recommend it either

Basic and OK for the price
Wine aparts is in a good location with lots of cheap restaurants nearby and the main plaza is about a 15 minute walk away. We were also able to walk to the bus station (with our back packs) in about 30 minutes. However, the rooms are in definite need of some TLC. The walls were dirty, we had a few bugs in our room and as the window of our room looked out on to a court yard at night it was very bright as the light was always left on. The breakfast was also very basic with only bread and pastries on offer. For the price I would have expected better.

Excellent value for money
We stayed here for 6 nights in December 2014.
We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who spoke good English. We were given a large apartment which had a kitchen, dining table, private bathroom, air conditioning and fans. The room had two single beds as well as a double. It was spacious and clean, if a little worn and dated. It was very functional however. The shower lacked hot water but was fixed in a couple of days, if it weren't so hot outside this would have been more of an inconvenience.
The staff throughout our stay were all friendly and very helpful, they allowed us to borrow their personal bus cards on two occasions so we could visit wineries and even told us the buses to get and where to wait for them. They also allowed us to store our luggage when we checked out while we waited for our bus.
The breakfast was good - croissants, bread, juice and coffee which we could eat in the small dining room beside reception or take to our apartment.
Would stay again.

Lots of potential but not quite there
We stayed overnight last night en route to other parts of Argentina. The good: the staff are extremely friendly and cheerful, and helped with everything needed (transfers, directions, etc). The location is near the center, and plenty of shops and restaurants are within a 10 minute walk. I guess my biggest issue with the hotel is the same issue I have with the city of Mendoza itself - there's not much charm there. Central Mendoza is an ugly, Stalinist place with depressing concrete buildings and shops. The people are so wonderful and friendly that it surprises me how bleak the city is. Likewise, the hotel has its charms, but the rooms are a bit worn and weary - a little TLC and some creative interior design could really jazz the place up and help it live up to its potential. But it is good value and for a night decent enough.
