Not just for Backpackers!

We stayed as a group of three older ladies looking for an economical place to stay close to family for the weekend, and the Mackay Adventure Lodge was a fantastic choice.
We booked the Triple Single Room, which had three comfortable single beds and a private ensuite. The room was spacious enough for the three of us, with luxurious bedding and a huge TV. The bathroom was modern and beautifully renovated, and the shower was absolutely divine after a long day.
The shared kitchen was large and well-equipped with everything we needed, while the lounge area was spacious, modern, and very inviting. We especially enjoyed relaxing with a glass of wine on the pool deck overlooking the lake and the Wake Park. There is a lovely little cafe down at the park that has delicious pizza, wine and cocktails. Everyone was so friendly.
For the price, we were genuinely surprised by how modern, clean, and comfortable everything was. We would happily stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for great value accommodation in Mackay, not just for backpackers!

Best 2 nights stay in Mackay

We had the most amazing 2 nights stay! They couldn’t be more accommodating! The hostel itself is lovely great facilities, the trips were great. Your guide Michelle was our tour guide mum she was absolutely amazing what’s credit to the business!!! 1st day we went to the waterfalls which was great with pie and chips for lunch which was an absolute treat!!!!, and the 2nd day we done sunrise with the wallabies and kangaroo which was unreal Michelle is basically a photographer she took everyone’s pictures throughout all the trips she was great❤️ They have a wakeboarding facility on the hostel grounds which is great fun and a bar which serves food and drinks.
Our room was beautiful, Thank you so much for our 2 nights stay we will definitely be coming back if we are in Mackay! I would 100% recommend if you are doing east coast traveling or in Mackay!

10/10 excellent

Amazing hostel, very clean and new, stunning pool. Did the sandy hop tour, saw amazing wildlife, guide Michelle is amazing. Hostel staff so nice and helpful, there’s a grocery store 2 steps from the accommodation. They even drove me to the pharmacy to pick up meds when I didn’t have a car to save me the taxi fare, they really go above and beyond!

I had an amazing time at this hostel, the rooms were well designed and very clean and provided lovely towels, and nice clean bathroom. Most importantly the staff went above and beyond to help those whose bus had been cancelled/ delayed, personally ferrying us to new buses and back and making sure we got on. The wakeboarding and platypus tour package was great fun too! Can tell they are passionate about what they do.

Amazing

Absolutely amazing stay here. Due to the flooding we were stranded in Mackay, this hostel took us in very last minute (13 girls) and gave us all either a private room or a shared room. All the rooms were ready as soon as we arrived as well as a free breakfast which was amazing. Rooms came with a fresh towel and comfy clean beds. The hotel owner Amanda did everything in her power to make sure we were happy and safe. The common room is lovely and open with sofas and a large smart tv to watch whatever you want as well as a pool outside.
We can’t thank them enough for all the staff have done for us girls!
