Our room was on the ground floor as we didn't want to carry bags up flights of stairs. On arrival, the reception desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious (Elms Wing Room) and the bed comfy. Our bathroom was an accessible one (though we didn't need accessibility) but it had one dim light and no heating apart from that provided to the main bedroom so it was a bit cold. There was no flat surface to put things on apart from a narrow glass shelf. It really needs a table or vanity. There was plenty of body wash, shampoo and conditioner as well as hand cream but only 3 tissues left in the box.
Dinner in the restaurant was delicious with a set deal of either two courses or three. The scallops for entree were beauifully cooked, my seafood bisque had one piece of each type of seafood which looked small but was very filling and came with toasted sourdough to mop up the sauce. Dessert was a sort of lemon meringue pie with a different name. It was too sweet for me but very nice flavours. I would recommend the restaurant for dinner. A buffet breakfast was included and was average. It wasn't bad but also wasn't amazing with the usual fare - nothing special.
Overall we had a lovely night at Peppers Craigieburn and would stay there again but would love if those small issues in the bathroom could be improved.

There is no lift at the property and we were on the third floor so this was a struggle with luggage. Main reception area and sitting rooms are beautiful and well maintained, however rooms are on the tired side, but ckean. Our toilet cistern leaked and would refill/top up every 40 minutes - this made for a terrible first nights sleep , I mentioned this to the receptionist the next morning and they said someone would look at it - this never happened and we were not updated on the problem or offered a room change - we turned the water off to the toilet after we got ready for bed - lucky my husband is handy 🙄

Very very disappointed about Sunday night dinner cancellation

We have been visiting Craigieburn for many years because we enjoy the relaxing ambience of the hotel. We usually try to book 3 nights, starting with Sunday, to avoid the weekend crowds.
However, this year we were VERY disappointed and annoyed to be told that there would be no food service on a Sunday night. What the??? How can you run a hotel with paying guests and not provide dinner? The nearest restaurant is a drive away and, in winter, that's not a pleasant option.
We ended up having to order food delivery, but it just wasn't what we wanted to experience.
We were told that it was a recent decision - somebody rang us the week before our arrival to confirm our booking - and it was mentioned only then.
I must say it was very disappointing.

The driveway is full of potholes. Neither it nor the carpark are paved. It's Dirt and some roadbase. The marked parking spaces are so tight. Don't bring a nice car or wear good shoes! The entrance to the reception is up a flight of stairs with no signage to indicate that they have disability access or ramps. To find this, you have to walk around and discover the sign for the disabled entrance yourself or be told where it is once you've made it up the stairs to reception. There are no lifts even though the hotel is over 3 floors. I know it's an old building, but a lift can be installed. The reception staff were helpful, however, and carried my bags. The room was nice, but I was awoken by a high pitched noise coming from the fridge, every time the compressor switched on, which I eventually unplugged from the wall, just so I could sleep. The bottom of the vanity unit was held together with gaffer tape. The bathrooms near reception reminded me of my primary school toilets (from 40 years ago!). They need redoing completely. Buffet breakfast is pretty ordinary. There's a lovely lounge area in which to relax by the fireplace with plenty of seating. I won't be back.

The staff were lovely and housekeeper very friendly. The room itself was lovely and very clean with access to a large balcony with a beautiful view. However, the hotel room bathroom is so old and needs renovating which let the room down. I believe the room rate is too high due to the old and outdated bathroom.
