Great Location & Friendly Staff, but Shower Pressure Could Improve
Check-in & Staff:
Check-in was smooth and welcoming, and all staff interactions throughout the stay were fantastic — friendly, chatty, and genuinely helpful. Checkout was equally easy, just a quick key return as it was a prepaid stay.
Room & Cleanliness:
The room was spacious, with a very large, accessible bathroom. The room itself was clean and well maintained, with a comfortable bed and pillows that made for a good night’s sleep. There was a slight stale/cleaning smell on arrival, but this dissipated quickly once the air conditioning was running.
Amenities:
The room had everything needed for a work stay — a small desk, ironing facilities, kettle, pod coffee machine, and tea/hot chocolate options. The minibar was empty (available on request), which is fine but worth noting; there is no microwave in the room either. Nice touches included funky lighting with built-in wireless charging and interesting artwork/vinyl wall designs. The only minor downside was a lack of sufficient coat hangers.
Bathroom:
The bathroom was very spacious and highly functional from an accessibility perspective. However, the shower was the main letdown — water pressure was quite poor and the temperature control was finicky. It also felt like pressure dropped further when other rooms were using water. It got the job done, but lacked that refreshing feel you’d expect or hope for.
Noise & Sleep Quality:
Sleep quality was good overall thanks to the comfortable bed. Typical hotel noise (hallways, neighbouring rooms, etc) was present but not disruptive. One evening there was music audible from outside or nearby that lasted until around 10:30pm. Rain noise was also noticeable due to external drainage, but more of an observation than an issue; different room locations may not experience this.
Atmosphere & Location:
The hotel has a cool, modern vibe with creative design elements. Location is a major plus — about a five-minute walk to Fortitude Valley station, close to cafés, and right next to the Osborne Hotel, which had a great local pub atmosphere for an easy dinner option.
Value:
Overall, I felt the stay offered good value for a work trip — comfortable, well-located, and supported by great staff. The main improvement area would be the shower experience, which holds it back slightly.
Overall:
A convenient and enjoyable stay with excellent staff and location. I would recommend The Constance, particularly for business travellers working and around Fortitude Valley.

Be aware that on Saturday night (and probably Friday) the next door pub open air area has loud music until 3am which is very loud inside the south facing rooms. If you’re up late partying or a good sleeper not an issue but other wise ask for a room on the other side of the corridor.
