YHA insists on access to all parts of the hotel being digital by way of having their app on your phone and accessing areas by putting your phone onto the digital pad of the door to the area you want to get into. The problem is that it doesn't always work. I wasted an hour trying to get access to my room, with staff insisting the app on the phne works.
Finally I had to demand a physical area, which worked first time.

Be aware that this hostel is right next to a train line. Request a room away from the train line if that bothers, but you'll probably still hear it!
The staff that i encountered here were all very nice and I cannot fault them.
What is not clear, is the opening times of the bar and cafe and the facilities offered there. Multiple places i saw advertising for bar food, but on asking, i was told the bar didnt serve food.
Also poor were the laundry facilities. I could usually find a washer, despite at least one being out of order every time i used the facilities! As for the dryers two at least were out of order which meant i had to put the A/C on in my room.to get my clothes dried!

Decent stay for few nights, clinical vibes not one of those lively coloful ones. The roof top pool and bar is great to hang out and meet people

Railway Noise and Poor Soundproofing

When staying at a hostel, I usually worry about noise from other guests, such as snoring or general roommate noise. However, at this hostel, the biggest issue was not the roommates but the building itself. The soundproofing is extremely poor, so railway noise and conversations from people in the lobby can be heard clearly inside the rooms. In fact, I found the noise from other rooms to be less noticeable than the noise coming from outside the room.
If you are assigned a room, I strongly recommend avoiding rooms 323 and 317. People talking and making noise as they enter and leave the area can be particularly disruptive, especially at night.
Another thing to be aware of is the nearby Suncorp Stadium. On match days, the surrounding area can become very congested, and there can be significant noise from the crowds and events. If you are not attending a game, you may want to consider staying elsewhere or checking the event schedule before booking.
Overall, if you are a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, I would recommend taking the location and room assignment into consideration before staying here.
