We stayed overnight on a business trip. Great location,peaceful,clean and cosy.The only things needed would be an extra towel rail as there is only a single not enough for 2 people and for the bin to be in the bathroom under the sink not next to the toilet. That being said, great price,great service and we would stay again.

Rude receptionist and unclean room

Absolutely awful.
We have little expectations, as it was cheap and just a place to stop / sleep during our road trip from Brisbane to Cairns.
We arrived at Kalua, and pressed the doorbell as the main entrance was locked. The gentleman that opened the door was exceptionally rude, did not say hello or greet us, and said to us that the ‘checking in information will have been sent to you’ and proceeded to close the door on us. We were then left outside the motel with our luggage, with no signal or ability to check emails for checking in information.
Once we managed to gain access to our room (thanks to nearby restaurant WiFi) - the room was dirty and tired. The only clean bit about it were the bedsheets. Signal was terrible in the room, bathroom felt unclean and I refused to use it.
Do not recommend this stay to anyone.

My booking was canceled after manager rang the wrong number to confirm. On second stay didn’t take money at check in then demanded it later that night while I was driving and couldn’t transfer money, then went into my room and grabbed my belongings until paid after abusive text messages

Staff were friendly. Rooms are tired but clean. Definitely worth the money though.

I walked into reception just after check in time, was informed I had already checked in I said no I’m here to check in. The elderly lady said i think I’ve given your room to someone else. The lady seemed confused and said i have one room left but it’s on the road side. We drove around to the unit was shocked to see a family permanently living in the unit next with 3 young children. The man had tools all around his car the outdoor area was filthy. The language and the arguing was constant up to 11.30pm with children still awake involved in the arguing too. The premises require a overhaul and wouldn’t recommend this motel, it was horrible.
