Great stay

We stayed for one night, got upgraded to essentially an apartment which was excellently outfitted with fridge and microwave. Not a fancy hotel but clean and conveniently located to downtown, short 5-10 minute walk. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again and recommend to others.

I selected property as it was a reasonable price for Cairns and in a good location as I was travelling for work. Room was definitely clean and comfortable, unfortuantely my room backed onto what appeared to be a work site and it was very noisy first thing in the morning.
I was within walking distance to be able to pick up some dinner which was very handy as the hotel itself does not offer options for dinner onsite

I have no complaints about this hotel……. Clean, comfy, great breakfast and friendly staff. The guest laundry is a definite plus. So good when one has been on the road for a few days.

This is the THIRD time I have visited the Coral Tree Inn (1995, 2003, 2026) I love coming here. I love the hotel; staff, the POOL, the BREAKFASTS, and TOURIST SUPPORT! They actually BOOK tours and trips for you! Excellent! See you again!

Hostel

The Coral Tree Inn was quite a disappointment after an amazing trip.
Poor quality dated room overlooking a main road and park, where street drinkers took up camp from 4am, still there in the morning when we went out. Situated next to a support hostel and emergency medical facility but good walking distance to the esplanade. Breakfast was served in a canteen, food perfectly acceptable but I felt I was 17 again at the YMCA. It does what it says on the tin but should be avoided if you’re looking for something a little more comfortable, with more luxurious facilities like a proper pool and maybe a bar. We would have happily paid more to stay at a better property but it was part of a tour. Do your research and avoid! Took the shine of what had been an exceptional trip.
