Great resort

Love this resort, the staff are all really friendly and helpful. I travel alone and as a female sometimes it can be unerving however l always felt extremly safe at this resort
Even tho it is attached to a casino there was never any problem with noise and you dont ever feel like you are at a casino.

Don't book in any way.

Those who want a relaxing holiday should not book this hotel at the moment. There are construction sites everywhere, connected with it it is loud and dirty. Almost all restaurants are closed. The staff is spasmodically friendly but unable to turn off problems.
The beautiful lagoon pool was not cleaned in the 4 days when we were there.
Our room was the worst we had on our long trip to Australia. There are much better hotels in Darwin.

Worth the stay

Beautiful resort, friendly efficient staff and very clean and well appointed. Only downside on weekends the pool area is open to the public and they play very loud doof doof music from 10-6pm Saturdays and Sundays making the pool area crowded.
Ask to be placed in a room well away from the main pool if you want to relax at times in your room.
Nice restaurants , good choices to choose from but being a bit out of town they are all expensive .

Beautiful resort, let down badly by service and systems

The resort itself and our room were lovely, and that is where the positives end. For a property marketed as five star, the customer service was truly poor, and there was a serious lack of attention to detail throughout our stay. It was clear that staff have not been properly trained or supported.
A few examples from our stay:
Upon arrival we were unable to get our second booking confirmed despite multiple attempts.
We were turned away from the bistro as a couple, told there was no room, despite numerous empty tables in plain sight.
When we went to book a table for the following evening, staff could not work the computer system and seemed completely lost. We asked for the manager, who said he would make the table booking himself. He later confirmed it had been done. When we arrived for dinner, there was no booking on record.
There was no dining room open for breakfast for guests going on early morning tours. Breakfast boxes were provided instead, with croissants that had clearly been cooked the night before and Coco Pops, but no cereal bowls or dessert spoons were left in the room. We rang housekeeping and were told they had already closed for the night. Reception could not help either. We ended up eating cereal out of a teapot with a teaspoon.
The Chinese restaurant was closed both Tuesday and Wednesday during our stay, despite this being peak season.
Room service was unreliable, and we had to chase it up ourselves, for example towels, crockery, cutlery, and tissues.
There was no compendium in the room and no simple guide to room service, housekeeping, wifi, dining times, laundry, or other basic services that you would expect as standard.
The day before we were due to leave, our room cards stopped working, meaning yet another trip to reception to sort it out.
On a positive note, a massage at the Lagoon Spa was genuinely wonderful and the highlight of the stay.
Individually some of these might be forgivable. Together, over the course of one stay, they added up to an experience that was extremely disappointing and frustrating. This property is rated as five star. On this visit, it did not come close to earning that rating. The physical resort and room quality are genuinely lovely, and the Lagoon Spa is a real credit to the resort, but the service, communication, and basic guest systems need serious attention.

Dirty rooms. Mindil Beach Beach Resort

Very Disapointed. The rooms very dat r and dirty, the linen was old and badly stiened, the only lounge chair was stained and worn, the shower leaked making floor the floor slippery. There is a door dividing the room next to ours and could hear everything going on next door. One old kitchen type chair and no table. Assess to our room was via the dirty smelly service lift along a water stained mouldy badly lite walkway . Complained about the room several times and told by receptionist that it would be fixed. Didn’t happenen and care factor was nil. Looked like could have good once. Wrote a letter to the manager and sent by registered mail and to this date have not received a reply.
