Wilder Tasmania Winter Dome Stay

We spent 3 superb nights in July at Wilder Tasmania staying in one of the three domes on offer. Being mid-Winter the temperatures were on the cold side (1-10 degrees Celsius), but each dome has an air conditioner, a wood fired heater as well as electric blankets which all conspire to keep you cozy. We love camping and staying in one of Matt's domes is a lux level outdoor experience. Domes were private and spotlessly clean and there's a central lodge on the property for breakfast and dinner. Being next door to Mt Roland offers special views and the opportunity to hike in a stunning landscape. Matt takes time to genuinely welcome each guest and he's right there to offer help if needed.

A little gem

This is a lovely little gem nestled between Cradle Mountain and Sheffield.
Matt was a lovely host, very laid back and obliging.
Had a real rustic charm to it and the dome was out of the ordinary.
Food was great and with an honesty box for the bar, in this day and age who would thunk, eh ?

Novel and unique stay but wouldn’t stay again or recommend due to price and returns of experience.
Mountain views also include view of driveways and other people from neighbouring campsite who can see into your bubble. See-through fence around outdoor bathtub.
Included breakfast is cereal, toast and instant coffee. Can pay additional for hot meal (pre-made curry and microwave rice), which cost $20+ so we chose to drive to nearby town for dinner instead.
Cosy room and bed with fireplace, modern bathroom, clean.
Self check in and out. Easy to find.
Owner was responsive via phone.
Cute wooden communal lodge designed for group gatherings.

Beautiful property and very comfortable stay. Stay in the dome was an amazing experience, very thoughtfully put together. The bed was very comfortable and the views were stunning. Matt and his team have done an amazing job. Unfortunately we stayed only for one night. Will happily come back.
