Beautifully peaceful

What a beautifully peaceful place to stay. The accommodation is gorgeous and with views to match.
We stayed in the couples cabin called the bower, it was perfect and the bed was so comfy.
Do yourself a favour and go for a week end, you won’t regret it.

Significant booking and communication issues

Unfortunately our experience was very disappointing.
Initially, we attempted to make a booking via the website, which crashed during the process. No confirmation page or confirmation email was received at the time. When a deposit appeared to be taken with no communication, we reasonably queried the transaction with our bank.
Nine months later, we unexpectedly received a text message advising that our room was ready and providing directions, which was the first indication that a booking existed. We were told that a confirmation had been sent through the system a week prior to the booking; however, we did not receive this.
When we contacted the owner to clarify the situation, we were repeatedly told it was “not possible” for us to have received no emails. During the call, we requested that a test email be sent, which was also not received. At that point, the owner indicated she may need to speak with her IT provider, acknowledging a possible system issue. Despite this, no apology was offered for the earlier dismissal of our concerns.
The manner in which the conversation was handled felt unprofessional and distressing, and there was no attempt to meet us halfway or resolve the issue collaboratively.
Taken together, the lack of confirmation, missing emails, delayed communication, and the response when we sought clarification left us with serious concerns. We ultimately chose to forgo the booking and the deposit due to the manner in which this was handled. A more respectful, solution-focused approach would have made a significant difference.

Beautiful quiet getaway

We are a couple from the U.S. in our 70s. We were looking for a quiet place to spend a couple of days after visiting family in Port Macquarie. Couldn't have been a better choice, and wish that we could have stayed longer.
We stayed in the Bower cabin which is very spacious and comfortable, with two big terraces. It is beautifully appointed. We loved the total peace and quiet of the resort - just the sound of the exotic birds - and beautiful surrounding countryside.
The on-site manager and her husband were very welcoming and gave us fresh eggs laid that day by their hens. Saved us making the 20-minute trip into Bellingen for dinner the first night that we were there. (There is a full kitchen and outdoor bbq.)
Bellingen is very quiet Monday and Tuesday, with few restaurants open. Had an excellent Monday-night bargain dinner at the Three Blue Ducks restaurant.
We made a day trip to the Dorrigo National Park and Dangar Falls. Lovely rural roads - part paved - and great scenery once there.
Highly recommended for a quiet getaway.

Peace and privacy in a beautiful setting

There are many things to love about the Promised Land Retreat. To begin with, it's hard to imagine a more rejuvenating setting among the lush farmland and rainforest of the aptly named Promised Land. The chalets are thoughtfully designed to maximise the views and ambience of the area, while offering complete privacy and comfort. Check-in was seamless and in general the chalet was very well decked out. There are a couple of minor things that could be improved (the electric stove in our chat was rather slow, we couldn't get Netflix to work and the pillows could perhaps do with a refresh) but these hardly matter when you are in such a uniquely beautiful spot. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

Promised Land Delivers

After 5 nights in the Bower Chalet, it was hard to pack up and leave. The Chalet is brilliantly designed so you always feel a part of nature and it’s surrounds. We spent most of the time on the deck looking to the hills and enjoying the beautiful array of bird life including the Chalet’s resident Bower birds. This place is a must for those who want to connect with nature while enjoying the comforts of some special accommodation.
