Glad it was only one night
On arrival, drove straight past as it looked like a derelict building. Parked in the car park which provided a view of the rooms. I thought maybe they rented them by the hour!
Our room had a hole in the wall and the bedheads were made of styrofoam, glued to the wall.
Found a bottle top and other rubbish on the floor and the contents of someone's nose on the bath towel.
The fridge was so cold it froze our food better than the freezer could.
The one positive was very comfy beds. The room had two singles and mine was pushed up against the window and the draught from the closed window was great for my menopausal hot flushes.

Quiet and handy
Clean and tidy and a good price. Nothing spectacular about this place but it’s been updated a bit and is in a good spot. Tricky to find as it just uses a Carlton draught sign. Bonus is it does have a microwave in room so you can do a bit of meal prep.

Good, bad and improving
Stayed here early May 2026. It has had some bad reviews but I think the new manager may sort out some of the issues.
The place is hard to find as it is called Carlton Suites but the signs say Carlton Hotel/ Motel. The hotel is long gone but the rooms remain. There is plenty of off street parking. We were in room 9. It had been renovated in recent times and the bed was comfy. There were towels, face washer and hand towel but no bath mat. Also a nice TV, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and crockery, and spoons. Missing was tea and milk. There was coffee. Air conditioning worked well. Wifi was good and the password is on the room key, the password on the wall didn't work.
I was talking with the manager and asked what was the deal with the beer in the fridge. She seemed shocked at this and she said she had only been there a week and that was one of the reasons they had appointed her. I gave her a few points for improvement eg the table was broken or very wobbly. I won't go into the others as hopefully these will be attended too. The manager said the tea and milk was on order but like she said she had only been there a week and the things I mentioned is why they had appointed her.
