Relaxing after hot day in aircon and the pool
Met another couple n chatted in the pool
Extraordinary garden w rare plants
Christmas twilight markets were just down the road which was a nice surprise

One night in Guilford

After an unexpected trip to hospital, nothing to do with the guest house, we found it real easy to book a room in this delightful period property, we arrived after dark and was greeted by the host who was very helpful and informative, we were shown to our room after hours but nothing was too much trouble.
The next morning it was explained were we could find local shops and places to eat, the room was very nice and a very good night sleep was what we wanted and got, not too hot for the time of year, the pool looked very inviting but unfortunately we had an appointment to go to, was very pleasant and would recommend Guilford as a place to stay as it has lots of historical buildings etc.

A Beautiful Heritage Gem in Perth

Our favorite Place to stay whenever we visit Perth. Guildford River Retreat is the whole package. Friendly and welcoming owners Shelley and Jon, always doing the extra mile to make our stay comfortable. Great location, Definitely value for money. This time we have been upgraded to the Heritage room which was an absolute delight, Stunningly beautiful room, very spacious with your own lounge and a huge bathroom with a full size bath and a mega shower , as always its very clean and well appointed rooms, coffee and tea making facility with a bar fridge. Close to shops and train station, surprisingly the room was quiet despite being at the front of the house. lovely surroundings., definitely we will continue to stay here when we visit Perth. Highly recommended

NEVER AGAIN!!! TOTALLY AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!

Small windowless room right next to train tracks and under flight path of airport. Bed was rock hard and 2 seater couch was broken and my husband hurt his back trying to get out of it. Internet didnt work which was unsuitable as we were there for a work trip.
Room is old fashioned and very drab. Grounds are very old and need a lot of maintenance.
We booked at 12pm and advised shortly after we arrived at 3.30pm that the room was unsuitable and that we would be checking out the next day. A refund for the following 2 nights was refused so we ended up spending another $703.80 on accommodation elsewhere.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!

The name suggests a peaceful location beside a river where you can relax and unwind

The reality was a windowless room with thin walls pressed up against the rail corridor and under the flight path for Perth airport with no river in sight.
The gardens at the back were nice and some great heritage buildings and good restaurants in the town.
