Better than expected little touches made it special and welcoming.

We had a really nice stay the rooms are clean and comfortable and the little extras were just wonderful touches that just felt so welcoming. Would highly recommend it is close to everything walking distance to the beach and restaurants thank you for having us will come again.

Better places to stay in Hervey Bay

Good points….Easy check-in with clear instructions. Plenty of parking (on street). Huge TV with Netflix. Well presented breakfast table with lovely crockery. fresh bread and fruit each day. Comfortable (firm) bed. Great location close to beach cafes and restaurants.
Quiet during our stay.
Not so good points…room only superficially clean lots of dust. Bathroom very narrow and lacked privacy due to the glass wall upon which hung a pointless net curtain. Rancid smell in bathroom coming from shower drain. No hospitality at all from owner/manager. Breakfast lacking in variety 38 jams and a plethora of cereal just doesn’t make a good breakfast in my opinion. The windows in the room didn’t open nor were they clear glass so the room felt claustrophobic.
Finally….its expensive and not good value for money an apartment with balcony and sea view on the Esplanade would cost no more.
This is an honest review of how I found Freshwater but realise it’s totally subjective what I didn’t like may not worry others. Won’t be back and obviously wouldn’t recommend.

Beautiful garden, amazing breakfast spread. Nice size room with spectate toilet and shower. The amenities are better than a 5 star hotel (lotions, creams, gels, coffee syrups etc). Hopefully the shower curtains can be replaced soon, but…. The gorgeous outdoor shower can always be used!

Underwhelming

We were slightly underwhelmed with freshwater bnb. After reading the glowing reviews we were really looking forward to our stay. The bathroom was tiny and ours had a cracked sink and mould around the taps. The bedside lamps were so dim that we had to use the torch on our phone to read in bed ! The breakfast was very basic with bread, jams and cereals but no croissants or cheeses or yoghurts, also there was no fruit platter which was advertised. In the 4 days we were there we never set eyes on Scott (the host). Overall quite disappointing.

The Freshwater BnB is consistently awarded the highest rated accommodation in Queensland with 300+ 5 star reviews. Occasionally we encounter unpleasant individuals. If you have come across this ugly rant, please take the time to read our other loving guest reviews that are accurate.

Wonderful stay, highly recommended

Stayed 2 nights in the garden suite ground floor. Room was spacious with sitting area inside and out. Very private. Large tv with Netflix, google assist and excellent wifi. Bathroom excellent with great water pressure and lots of toiletries. Breakfast is a help yourself setup, everything provided, bread, eggs, fruit lots of condiments and you have access to the kitchen to prepare your own. Tea and coffee also available from here day and night. Great setup. This bed and breakfast is wonderfully run with so many little touches to make your stay special. Bikes available to use. Restaurants and beach only approx 3min walk. Lots of choice. Thank you so much Scott and Wayne for a special stay and the birthday treat. Highly recommended and would love to go back.
