The Duke is Very Grand

We adored our stay at The Grand Old Duke, York apartment. He was so grand, thoughtfully decorated and impressive. The location is ideal and central to restaurants, cafes, historical places, parks, next door to Arthur Circus. Walking distance to everything. The apartment was beautiful and had everything we needed for our family of four. We could have sat at the lounge room window all day. Would absolutely stay again and dearly hope to be back.

Grand stay

The Grand Old Duke was a wonderful place to stay. We had the York apt which was spacious and comfortable. Spotlessly clean. Lovely host and what a perfect location. We didn’t need our car until we set off for country adventures. Highly recommend it.

A short walk to almost everything in downtown Hobart

The Grand Old Duke is indeed grand. We spent 4 nights there and the accommodation was beautifully decorated and clean. Reminded me of my grandparents home in England. Despite facing the Main Street in summer, we did not hear any traffic while indoors. After two weeks in New Zealand we were also able to do our laundry which was helpful. The location is also perfect to walk down to Salamanca place or into the downtown area. We dined at Da Angelo restaurant, which is just one street up and the food was excellent. Great location and very comfortable stay.
Some negatives is if staying on ground floor, noise from passers by can be annoying. But generally it’s fine.
