Fantastic beachfront apartment
We stayed on the top floor in the corner unit. The apartment was really light and spacious, everything fresh and clean. All facilities needed were included, and it was really useful to have a laundry. The apartments have a private pool and are on the waterfront with the safe swimming area. Pool/beach towels provided. The building is along from the bus stop and close to the pub, convenience store and restaurants and cafes. Very quiet at night. Manager is on site if anything is needed. We loved our week here and would highly recommend. Price was excellent for the standard of the facility and the location.

Don't Book Apartment 1
Magnetic Sunsets Resort is well situated mid-restaurant/pub strip opposite the beach at Horseshoe Bay, Magnetic Island. I can only comment on Apartment 1 that we booked as a two bedroom apartment. Very clean, well provisioned with kitchen utensils, pots, pans etc. beds are good. We booked directly with the resort.
My negative comments are - 1. There is a chink of sea view but trees with thick foliage block most of the balcony view. This applies to the whole street. Maybe apts 4, 5 qnd 6 have beach views. They are one floor higher. Apt. 1 is first floor.
2. Something to do with the ground floor restaurant grease trap makes periodic rumbling/chugging noises like a train is coming through the apartment. Thumping can start as early as 6.30am and stop as late as 11pm. We complained and were told they had a technician coming but I suspect this terrible noise has been a problem for a long time. Staff seem to know about it and admit it is terrible. Maybe only apartment 1 is affected. Don't know. Some days they turned the grease trap machinery off most of the day and some days it rumbled periodically. Be sure to check out the grease trap malfunction before finalising your booking. The noise spoilt our 5 day stay at an other wise good apartment.

Beautiful limits in Wonderful location
I have stayed here for around 10 years. The location is perfect for us - directly opposite Horseshoe Bay with lovely views of the water from the balconies. The units are spacious and well appointed. This year however, there was a change that we didn't know about. The units are individually owned now and there is no on site manager at any time. There were no pool towels in the room and I had to phone the booking number to ask if they still have them and she replied she wasn't sure and she would find out? Two were later left at my door but they certainly weren't standard issue. The room compendium states the reception hours are 8.30-6 but the reception area is now boarded up and is part of a residence. This is now more of a Stayz experience however it was fine - just different. We had 2 of the units for 8 days and were washing and drying our own towels, buying our own toilet paper and garbage bags as there was no-one we could see to ask for more supplies. Magnetic island never fails to please and we still had a wonderful time with the family.

Perfection
Fabulous position opposite beach. We arrived from a late ferry but the system of lockbox check in worked well and we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the apartment. Luckily the convenience store underneath was open until 6.30pm so we just managed to find what we needed for breakfast the following day. What a great spot!! The local bus stops just a few metres away. It would have been nice to have met Margaret who runs the resort. The pool is lovely. The beach is perfect. Love the place .

Fantastic apartments opposite the beach
We stayed for 5 nights in a 3 bedroom apartment. It was very clean and spacious, with 2 bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen. We had a large corner balcony overlooking the beach.
The apartments are in a perfect location in Horseshoe Bay, right across from the playground and beach. We could watch our kids in the playground while sitting on the balcony.
There was a convenience store downstairs that sold everything we needed for a few days if we wanted to self cater. However there were so many restaurants and cafes in walking distance that we dined out every night.
A small pool out the back which our kids enjoyed when the beach got too hot for them and us. We had the pool area to ourselves the whole time we were there.
Yes, you do have to pay for the apartments 2 weeks prior to the stay but that is noted on the booking conditions when you book direct. We actually initially booked to travel last year and had to cancel due to a lockdown the day prior and the owner refunded our payment for which I was grateful.
Highly recommend these apartments.
