Special occasion stay elevated to next level!

Wow incredible stay as a platinum explorer plus member at this ideally located Accor establishment in Melbourne on the famous Collins Street.
Everything was great from the facilities to rooms to dining and breakfast especially as we were celebrating a special occasion.
Let me address the lift situation that so many have commented on. The management are moving mountains to get the new lifts in and operational as quickly as is humanly possible. I stayed Sunday and Monday and had absolutely no delays at all either downstairs or from reception to the rooms. I do believe there are some small delays during peak periods but I never experienced it and I was in and out of the hotel a lot.
Accor loyalty members benefits fully applied with a fantastic breakfast spread and great cocktails and dinner options. Great gym and pool area spa under maintenance but no big deal.
Represents great value at the right price with a huge “watch this space” with some serious upgrades coming from what I hear of the grapevine.
No review would be complete without a famous mrmakemystay shout out to the amazing front and back office champions including Cristelle(FOM), Ema, Merina, Jessica, Udara, concierge angels including Joseph, Sal, Elizabeth, Laura, Julian, Daniel and in F&B Makoto and Mr Steven, chef Buddhisha and manager Perera. All the staff were incredibly friendly, professional and welcoming.
Novotel on Collins has absolutely made my stay! High recommendation from me a seasoned traveller.

Centrally located

Centrally located hotel at the corner of Swanston and Collins st the Novotel is close to food and shopping. Access from a tiny entrance the lobby is on Level 3. Staff are very efficient in checking in I was given a nice welcome drink as well a bottle of wine and chocolates which is a nice gesture. Rooms and decor are abit dated however they are very spacious and no issues with the bed or the air conditioning. Coffee and tea from sachets but it’s decent quality moccona and dlimah. In all a very pleasant stay just hope the lift upgrade is completed soon it’s only 1 lift serving all rooms.

Very basic hotel in a very convenient location in the city, close to trams and trains. The lifts were in terrible working condition, causing human jams every morning waiting for 2 working lifts to bring people down. The rooms were very basic and cleaning was only done once in the whole week we stayed. Other days were simply tidying up of the rooms. Room amenities were not replaced daily. There is light seepage all over the room despite curtains, not ideal for people who need to sleep in total darkness.

We enjoyed two nights in Melbourne with our family including two small children, staying at the Novotel on Collins. We booked two rooms. One of the rooms was very good, the second room where the children were staying wasn’t replenished with crockery or glassware after it was used and taken away when the room was serviced. When we requested more by phoning housekeeping we were asked to go from the 12th floor to pick it up ourselves from the kitchen. Only one of the three lifts were working on a very busy weekend, so overcrowding and wait times were problematic especially for the children. The jacuzzi pool was also out of action and not able to be used. The tiles around the swimming pool are incredibly slippery. Rubber matting would help immensely. Our buffet breakfast was fantastic, with a great deal of choice for a family.
One of the room service ladies who delivered our meals on the first night was wonderful, very attentive and friendly.
The location is excellent but the hotel is in need of some thorough maintenance to service this busy part of Melbourne.

Whilst a great hotel for convenience in f shops s and being in the middle of the city a lot of amenities were out of order including most lifts in the property making a long wait to get out and the spa was not working leaving the kids stuck for activities
