Chinatown Hotel
Located in China town, it is part of a vibrant scene in the city. The initial entrance was very poor as someone had thrown up in the entrance - soon cleared away by staff. The public spaces on multiple floors which is apain to get around, but works in the confines of the building. Reception confused my green offer (not cleaning the room) and cleaned it everyday. The room was large, clean and new looking. Shower was OK too. Water had to be collected from a shared point on the floor, but ok. Breakfast was amazing.

If you want to sleep you may want to think again
Well that was a night I will never get back . I was on the 4th floor and was thrilled with my drunk noisy neighbors at 1.30am waking me up. I rang down to reception who said they would fix it . It wasn’t until 3am they stopped . Then at four am my other neighbour were being loud and amorous and woke me at 4am. I appreciate that’s not the hotel fault but they should have done more . I feel like they robbed me with what I paid. It was galling when I left that my noisy neighbours had there do not disturb sign out. I travel to Melbourne 20 times a year and this is my worst experience .

Dust
What I liked about this hotel, is that it's close to everything, the only problem is, there's a lot of dust in our room, a ton of dust to which you could even see it through video, it made me & my family cough all night., bedsheets & pillowcases dust.. bedside frame, a ton of dust.

Super DISAPPOINTING
Disappointing stay. Be careful when you leave your luggage at their storage room. Our bags get stolen from the storage room. The hotel, especially their general manager, refused to take a blame for losing our bags from their property and give any compensation for our lost items even though we are a diamond accor member. Still get no updates from them until today.

I have since had a chat with our Executive Assistant Manager who dealt with you at the time, and I would like to clarify the following points for accuracy and transparency:
• It was clearly communicated in person following the incident that you would need to lodge a claim through your travel insurance, as the circumstances fell outside coverage under the Innkeepers Act as you were not an in-house guest at the time the incident occurred.
• We also provided information regarding our liability when leaving luggage in storage.
• A police report was shared with you on 11 November 2025, following your return to the hotel after two nights away.
• An email from our General Manager was sent on 27 November 2025 confirming that the hotel does not accept liability in this instance.
• On Monday 29 December 2025, Reggie contacted our Executive Assistant Manager requesting further details to assist with the insurance claim, and he was subsequently directed to Victoria Police contact, however we did not receive any further response after this point.
We are truly sorry that you remain disappointed, however we trust the above provides clarity on the steps taken and communication provided throughout this process.
We do value your loyalty as a Diamond Accor member and regret that this situation has impacted your perception of your stay with us.
