Good location, Recently renovated.

I believe this used to be an old Quality Inn based on street view images. The hotel has clearly been renovated with some work still underway and the rooms were clean with fresh fittings and furniture. Some older fixtures were apparent but all were serviceable and presentable. Overall I would describe the interior as fresh and welcoming.
Be aware that those rooms facing the road and tram tracks have what appear to be single glazed windows only and the noise from Royal Parade and the carpark below can be intrusive around rush hour. The rooms at the back near the pool were much quieter according to my fellow guests. There is a restaurant in the entry area which I didn't visit but it appears to be popular with dine in and take out customers.
The location is good. There is a tram stop about a hundred metres away for the Coburg line service and a MyKi transit card will let you ride the tram into the city or use the Royal Park train station near the zoo entrance which is fifteen minutes walk. There is car parking on site. One minor issue is the lack of close dining options unless you walk or tram up to Barkly Square at Brunswick where there are plenty of restaurants and pubs
If I had to visit Melbourne again I would have no problem staying here. The staff were helpful and the hotel management have clearly made an effort to upgrade the rooms.

Avoid at all costs..disgusting and dirty

Probably the dirtiest hotel i have ever stayed in.The place is being renovated but that doesn't excuse disgusting stains in both rooms on floors and walls.Absolutely avoid as it is disgusting.

Not a FAMILY FRIENDLY hotel

We are a family that stayed at the Parkmore hotel Parkville, we found it as another family had recommended it as it's only down the road from the Royal Melbourne hospital where my father is being treated. So great location and great spot to take the kids to the zoo and onto the tram into the city shops. We found the location fantastic for what we needed whilst in Melbourne.
However, this is NOT a KID_FRIENDLY nor FAMILY_FRIENDLY hotel as when we drove in at night there was females in the window with neon lights flashing dancing in lingerie at the window as you drive in. It looked very X-rated with them touching themselves and each other. I was horrified my children could see as the lights stood out as we drove in. There was nowhere else to look. We are a christian family so it was the last thing I thought we would be seeing while driving into the hotel after a long day at the hospital. We were appalled and couldn't sleep all night.
We complained to the front desk and was told its the "massage spa rooms" and are only open friday and saturday nights.
Since looking at the hotel we can see 419 "for one night" is a brothel.
Please DO NOT advertise as a family hotel. I will be sure to tell other friends and families when travelling to Melbourne not to stay at the parkmore hotel and others at the hospital. We will not be back!
