Comfortable stay with a well-equipped indoors, but the outdoor stove was unclean
Liked · We had a wonderful stay at The Old Coolstore - Braeburn Apartment in Merricks North! The spacious open-plan living area with a well-equipped kitchen, dining, and lounge made it feel like a home away from home. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a dishwasher, oven, and cooktop, perfect for preparing meals. The bedrooms are simple but comfortable. The exceptional cleanliness of the apartment made our stay even more enjoyable—it was spotless and well-maintained. The location was peaceful, though not particularly scenic, but it was conveniently close to local attractions and local wineries.
Disliked · The only downside was that the outdoor stove was in an absolutely inappropriate condition—extremely dirty—so we were forced to cook our steaks indoors. This was disappointing, as we had planned to enjoy an outdoor meal.

Beautiful part of the world
I recently came to Vic for work training with a group of ladies from all over Australia. We stayed together in the Old Coolstore and were very comfortable. There was plenty of lounge and kitchen space. We were able to cook all of our meals easily with a well stocked kitchen.
The whole space was clean and the beds comfy. The shower temp was warm enough if you used hot only and no cold and the pressure was intermittent. The heat lamp was lovely though.
The wifi wasn't very strong and unreliable which didn't bother me as my Telstra service was sufficient but some of the other ladies struggled.
Overall, the whole experience was great, I would return and would recommend to others.

Cosy spacious apartment! Best in Mornington Peninsula!!
Booked it via groupon. Cheap deal but everything is perfect!
Raelene the owner made sure the date we wished to stay are available before we purchased the deal ( as there is only 2 apartments).
The check-in is super fast and hassle free, the owner resides the next door so she passed us the key and introduced us to their Jonathan suite immediately. Wifi is free too!
When we 1st reach the old coolstore, it was a bit far from the the major attraction and quite surrounding. However, it was a 'jaw drop' for 3 of us once we entered the apartment!
It was so clean, spacious and cosy! Feel like at home! There are 2 living rooms, big kitchen, dining area with big dining table, 2 bedrooms with cosy and warm beds, one bathroom and one toilet.
Let's start with the 1st living room- it equipped with a nice mirror with table with mornington maps and directory and a guest book. A nice big TV with foxtel!!! Air conditioner and 3-piece sofas! It is so cosy to just sit back, relax and watching TV. There is a warmer as well.
The second living room with 2-piece sofas, smaller in space but guess what, they have toys and games as well- really suitable for those with big families and kids!
The kitchen is fully equipped even with kids plates, cups and cutleries!! Very thoughtful the owner is. A fridge, a microwave, a bread toaster, cattle, dish washer, cups, plates, wine glasses, knives, all sorts of cooking essential (don't know how to name it as I don't cook :))... But my mum loves the kitchen and can't stop praising the owner how thoughtful she is!!
The bedrooms are simple, one with only bed and another one with bed, sofa bed and wardrobe. Very big and cosy beds, pillows and blanket, additional blankets are available too!
The bathroom - love the shower area although small, the water pressure is good. Bathroom with heater and fan which is really useful to dry up our cloths!!
The compound is big whereby we can park our car easily!
Upon check out, we just passed the key back to Raelene without a single complain! We will definitely go back again next year!!

Beautiful, quiet and good location.
Excellent, quiet and convenient location. It is central to most places on the peninsula. The rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. The decor of the rooms is beautiful. The hosts live-on site and are very helpful and courteous.

Perfect Base for Mornington Peninsular Exploring
We took a trip down to the Mornington Peninsular to explore where mum grew up and when looking for places to stay we found this online and decided it was in the best location to explore the surrounding areas. We had a hiccup at first when we arrived and they'd forgotten we were coming - so we had to take a side detour while they prepared the apartment. When we returned everything was clean and lovely. We stayed in the Braeburn Apartment and the two bedrooms were lovely but the heater in the lounge doesn't extend to the rooms so I'm not sure what they do later in the year as it gets even colder? The kitchen was nicely sized but everything could do with a bit of a better wash (placemats, oven, saucepans, etc.) and replacement of the older items. We found two tomato sauce bottles and butter (nice) but no salt and pepper so a little more attention to little things would be good. These were all bearable (especially with wine from our wine tours and full Foxtel service - hooray!) but the major downside to the property was the showers. The shower heads were the type that make you dance around to get any water on you and the pressure kept dropping and raising.
Overall as I said in the title, it's a nice little place to base yourself for exploration but just be warned that slippers are essential in winter outside the lounge area and perhaps a relaxing bath may be better than the showers ;-)
