10/10 Stay

What a fantastic find! We were a group of four friends, hiking the Snowies Alpine Walk. The daily hikes were amazing, but our stay at Valhalla was probably the highlight. Not fancy but so comfortable and relaxing, we loved it . Shane and Karen (lodge managers) made us feel like guests in their own home. We really felt like they made our trip!
Nothing was a problem and there was always plenty of advice, banter and laughter.
The food is exceptional and plentiful.
A perfect place to base yourself for a summer hiking trip. Go for the hikes, stay for the hospitality and food!

The perfect base to Self Guide the Snowies Alpine Walk.

Valhalla is the ultimate base for self guiding the Snowies Alpine Walk. Comfortable rooms, gourmet food and transfers to trailheads makes it the perfect base for exploring this region. Valhalla’s hospitality “stacks up’ with the hotels that you find on the Tour De Mont Blanc, Alta Via and Walkers Haute Route. It’s no surprise that Australia’s leading Guided Walking companies are choosing Valhalla for their accomodation. Thanks for a great few days. See you again

Perfect location for Snowies Alpine Trail

Valhalla Lodge is a great accommodation option if you are planning on hiking in the area. We did the complete Snowies Alpine Trail and it is in the perfect location as two of the walks start/end at the lodge. The food was tasty and satisfying - we really appreciated the main and dessert each night, the changing cooked breakfasts each morning and the packed lunches. Lodge manager Chris was excellent. He was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. He even helped us out with transport on one day. We also loved how quiet it was at night and the changing views from the front balcony each morning and evening after returning from a tough day on the trail. For the price it was really good value too as it included all the meals and a pre-dinner tray of snacks. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Highly recommend for summer stay

I highly recommend Valhalla for a place to stay in Perisher. Up in the mountains away from the busyness of town. Hiking at our doorstep. We were a group of ladies staying for a hiking weekend.
Valhalla had a lovely, relaxing and inviting atmosphere. Food was simple but great tasting and good variety. The packed lunches were great for our days out. Rooms were very clean and well presented. Chris was helpful and had some good hiking recommendations. We will definitely be back for another summer hiking stay.!

The best surprise I've had in years.

What an absolutely amazing experience. I can not recommend Valhala Lodge enough. All credit to Bruce, an absolutely delightful host who goes above and beyond expectations, with his great attitude and friendly engaging manner. Would love to stay here again.
