Fabulous getaway

Room is fabulous. Has everything one needs and so close to the Civic Theatre, Darby Street and Honeysuckle Wharf. I have stayed there many times and enjoy it a lot. There is also a lovely beer garden with live music. My only one negative is the fold out sofa bed is not the most comfortable but ok for a couple of nights

Decent accommodation in central location

We had 2 nights at the Clarendon and were very happy with the location, our room and the standard of accommodation. The location is very central, with a tram stop 100 metres from the front door, and there many restaurants in the vicinity, Darby St being just a block away. The room was spacious with queen bed, couch, desk and with an equally spacious bathroom. 'Kitchenette' facilities were there if fairly basic but we did not use or eat in at all. We stayed Friday and Saturday nights when live music is offered at the hotel and when things did get a little noisy we could close the door to the balcony and shut the noise out very effectively.
While we did like our room we did think a few things needed a bit more TLC. There were loose fittings in the bathroom and the carpet was worn, both in the room and in some of the public areas. Our door keys needed remagnetising twice because they failed to operate the door to the lift and the door to our suite.
We also paid $20 for parking each day and would suggest there are better options. The parking lot is 300-metres hike from the hotel and between that lot and the hotel there was other off-street parking available for less than half of what we paid.
Don't want to sound as though complaining too much - the pros outweigh the cons and would gladly stay at the Clarendon again.

We haven’t actually been here but still the service was brilliant, so one day we will!

So I accidentally booked a hotel in Newcastle for one night, not realising it was Australia. They still refunded me even though it was q non refundable booking which is fabulous as I live in Sheffield UK and meant to book for Newcastle UK.
Phew! Thanks to Errin

Again and again! Toll!

A very nice hotel. You can see all sightseeing points within walking distance. We would have breakfast next time in one of the many bistros right next to the hotel, such as La Buche.

Value For Money

We stayed in the balcony suite, one double bed and a sofa bed for two nights. The room was spacious, bathroom was clean with a good shower. The room was quiet at night. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The location is great, easy access to The Civic Theatre and a 10 min walk to Honeysuckle, cafes and resytaurants. Highly Recommend
