Hard to fault

The en-suited room was more than adequate. The bed was comfotable, the en-suite though small was freshly renovated.
The bistro was better than expected as was the food and menu choices. Both the main bar and the beer garden were great.
There's a private car park and all hours access.
Our purpose for the stay, a visit to the Newcastle Entertainment Centre, involved a walk of less than ten minutes.
And to cap it off, the rate made the stay great value. (Wish I could say the same about the show!)

Bed was great
Unfortunately the Air Conditioner was not working to make the room warm.
The hot water for the shower took a very long time to come through as in the water heater isn’t close to the rooms.

I booked three separate rooms for my team, and while the hotel’s location was a strong point-conveniently accessible-the overall experience was deeply underwhelming and marred by significant issues that made the stay uncomfortable.
The cleanliness was a major concern. Mould was visible on the walls, and cockroaches were a persistent problem, crawling on walls and even on guests while sleeping. The shared bathroom situation was highly inconvenient, with only one communal bathroom and shower for seven rooms, leading to long waits and a lack of privacy. To make matters worse, the shower only provided cold water, which was particularly unpleasant in the middle of winter. Guests had to request fresh towels just to maintain basic hygiene, as they weren’t provided regularly.
While some team members found the beds adequate and were more tolerant of the basic conditions, the lack of air conditioning and the shared facilities were consistent issues. Despite reaching out to the hotel two days ago to report these issues and seek a resolution, I received no response or remedy, which further contributed to our disappointment.
For the price point, the accommodation was subpar, and we strongly recommend avoiding shared accommodations like this one. While the location was a highlight, the poor living environment and lack of basic amenities made this a place we wouldn’t return to.

One night stay whilst attending concert locally. Fantastic location for NEC; 5 minute walk. Staff helpful on arrival, friendly and attentive. Room small, but absolutely fine for a one night stay. Unfortunately, no hot water upon waking and unable to rectify as I left early and had a train to catch. Some cockroaches seen at check-in to room and at other points during the stay. Bistro downstairs for ease. Stayed on a Sunday, no noise from pub.
