Vile staff
It was an ok hostel. The staff were talking very inappropriately and vulgar conversations about women when cleaning rooms. Made me feel very very uncomfortable. Rooms and kitchen could’ve been cleaner and no a/c in all the rooms. The alcohol policy is abit weird aswell. Just could’ve have been a lot better of looking after facilities.

Good vibe, not so comfy rooms
Hostel with a social vibe for solo travellers, easy to meet people in the common areas and lots of things being organized. Rooms a less comfy than in other hostels, beds are extremely squeaky. Kitchen not very clean.

Rude manager
I have never had to deal with such rude staff before. We did the K’gari tour from Nomads (which was fantastic) and upon our return Olivia who must’ve been a manager at Nomads - was really short and snappy with everyone barking orders at us telling us we had to wait before we could go to the toilet after a 3 hour journey so she could tell us to leave a 5star review (was a serious downer on what was a great 3 days). I went to get my iPad from her that I was told was okay to leave behind the reception for safety whilst away and after waiting in line 15 minutes she told me to wait to serve everyone else first as there was a queue of people behind me and she didn’t want to waste time going into the safe. She rolled her eyes at me when I insisted she give me my iPad back as I had waited 15 minutes already and she snapped at me telling me she doesn’t have enough staff to waste time on me. I have no idea why I got the brunt of her bad mood but I got the impression from the way the staff were around her this was her usual. They also refused our guide to come in for a pint without paying entry which was crazy as he had just done an incredible tour for so many of the people staying at their hostel and we then missed a chance to say our proper goodbyes. Think this place is run terribly and you’re better off going to Halsey Lodge as that had a much better vibe when we visited if you were to choose a hostel!

Didn't even get to stay. Was totally let down by the images online and I wasn't even expecting much. Just incase you're thinking of having a peaceful sleep on the cheap - forget about it. They have a rule of no parties, but don't fear, the hostel is attached to a bar that turns into a loud nightclub! Parking is a nightmare and when you say something about it they say "There's street parking" - there's also drunk patrons on the street, I'd rather not. They will talk about everything but a refund. Clearly a trap for backpackers that don't expect much and have nothing to lose when it comes down to it.
