Hidden gem in the city

First time in Perth at this small 30 room hotel and it’s a ripper , if you like a 24 hour reception and the normal plastic shopping centre experience go to the ibis or Crowne .
Gary and Anne are lovely hosts the hotel is different , rooms are clean and tidy but you have all the extras , a fridge with breakfast in it , real soap and shampoo in the shower , a toothbrush in case you forgot yours ! Books in the draws , dvds if you want to watch a film ?
Grab a balcony room for the extra leg room in this 100 year old building !
We’ll be back this is a hidden gem , quirky but more personable with a human touch .
The negative reviews on here are hard to understand ?

Horrendous

location was great, but unfortunately that’s where the positives ended. This was the worse accomodation I’ve ever stayed in and the lady running it is nothing short of a con artist. She kept asking us for cash for payment. She waited till we arrived at 2.30pm to tell us in the small, claustrophobic room that the air con was broken. The day was 37 degrees and high humidity, when we asked how long ago this happened she stated a week ago. Which i addressed she could have told us in advance and we’d have been out of the weeks cancellation policy. There were 4 loud fans and a noisy portable ‘vented’ unit shoved into the wardrobe. This was Clearly a long term issue not recent. When I checked reviews she also told a customer in January it had just blown… all lies.
She would not discount, was very sharp and rude. The room was so small with one window that does not open and the window is internal to the hallway where the lifts open. Absolutely terrible. We had to keep the blinds shut in darkness and sleep with loud fans everywhere that recycled dirty air. I woke with bleeding nostrils.
I am so so annoyed and disappointed at this as we booked 6 weeks in advance and what is online is false advertising. My husband took me away for valentines as I’ve spent a year fighting breast cancer. The overnight stay actually left me unwell for 4 days with scratchy throat and bleeding nostrils. This should not be allowed!!! Apart from the dirty, unaired room, we found dirty underwear in our wardrobe along with shorts from the previous guest, the floor was dirty, the remote controls etc dirty.
Our room was a two bed apartment decided into separate accommodation and ours being the tiniest room, not a deluxe suite at all, false advertising.
With major events on that day (State of Origin and Fringe Festival), finding another hotel last minute at double the price wasn’t an option. We didn’t enjoy our stay at all and definitely didn’t receive what we paid for. The air con has been broken for months and is still broken. She lies to every new guest.

Free parking and location

This small boutique apartment block in the city centre is an excellent find for those wishing to park a car at no extra cost and have easy access to the city. The delightful Anne was there to greet us and make sure everything was satisfactory. I must say excellent customer skills and very attentive. We had a studio with a lovely little terrace unfortunately the air conditioning was not working but however they did supply a cooler and a pedal stool fan for our 3 nights. Overall, we did enjoy our stay here and felt very secure and safe in this lovely building. There are many restaurants in close proximity and easy walking to all attractions. A light breakfast is also supplied which was ample for us and toped up each day. The decor is warm and homely with little extra touches. Now the big question , would I stay here again? Yes, but only if the air conditioner was working as it is good value for the money and lovely helpful managers.

Cosy oasis in the middle of the city

Host Anne was very welcoming and helpful.
I was able to park my vehicle undercover in a secure area. I was met with a welcome drink which was very appreciated as the day was hot.
The room was awesome - cosy with a gorgeous little terrace to enjoy a book and a drink. Room was clean and well equipped with microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, cutlery and crockery. The nightstand even had torches just in case.
The property was a short 10min walk to the RAC Arena.
Really happy with my stay and will definitely stay again.
