Comfortable, easy and accessible to Ocean Grove! Great for a short stay for friends or couples.

We had a great experience here! Loved that we had an undercover carpark. Easy to check in and check out as it was contactless but we were sent all of the information.
2 minute walk to the main strip including Coles.
5 minute drive to the main beach or 10 minutes down to Barwon Heads. Bed was very comfortable, everything was clean and was a large enough room for our 2 nights.
Would stay here again!

Great location but wouldn’t stay again

Great location. Apartment was clean and had the basics. Unit 6 has little natural light, widows are high up with shutters and only have a view of bushes and fence behind, if you stood on the bed to look out. It’s ok if you’re not planning to stay in the room for long but a bit oppressive otherwise.
The beds were uncomfortable and bedding limited to sheets, high pillows and doona. I’d bring my own blanket and pillow if I were returning but that’s highly unlikely. We left a day early.
Pool was fun, nice and clean feeling.

Lack of responsiveness in case of an issue

Our niece very kindly booked a 3-night for my partner and I to stay at Ocean Grove Chalet over her wedding weekend. On arrival on Friday, we noted a problem in our room (Room 1) - the TV didn't work; while there was sound, there was no picture; we tried to see if it was a settings issue but it was not. There are no reception staff but guests are given a mobile number to contact in the case of any issues. As is apparent from the texts below, there is no close to no help in case you need assistance or you strike a problem in your room. The shower and bathroom were great; the bed was ordinary. We ended up leaving early due to dissatisfaction with our experience. We were hoping this would be somewhere we could stay at regularly but that won't be happening.

Stuffed up our booking and ruined our holiday. Time out is precious being a health care worker.

Disappointed! Stuffed up my booking!
After staying here previously and being happy with the 2 bedroom family suite we enjoyed, I booked the same room 12 months in advance. Being an ANMF member I thought I would be looked after. WRONG!!
I received an email on the Wednesday prior to the booking for the following Monday saying that I was in the room requested.
The day before our stay, Sunday morning at 10 AM I received a text message saying that we were in room 12. I immediately contacted them to query.
Upon arrival we found that we don’t have 2 separate bedrooms, the bed is in the living area, a small bar fridge, no privacy, not what we booked. So disappointed and unhappy that we don’t feel comfortable booking again.
Texted the contact number to complain and got no response. Not even sorry for ruining our trip! Angry and disappointed.

Keep looking you can do better

There’s a couple of positives with this place, undercover parking, good shower and convenient location to the shopping street, food and bar . You’re not to far from the beach but it’s an uphill walk and that’s where the positives for me finish. There is no view unless from what I can work out you pay for the penthouses, the rooms are very noisy if there is anyone especially children in the rooms above , you need to wash your own dishes before leaving and okay that’s not a major inconvenience but I did wonder how hygienic that is when there is no tea towel or detergent. I wondered why there was a coffee ring on the cups in the cupboard and then worked it out once I saw the departure instructions ( wash and return the cups etc to where they were). If you’re stopping overnight it’s probably not a bad spot but if you want beach views, easy access and a motel room that gives you a room big enough to be comfortable for a short term stay then I would recommend you look elsewhere.
