Comfortable and Relaxing.

I have stayed here at least three times over about ten years. The apartments vary a little, and have never had an ocean view as was using Oceanroad Holiday vouchers. Unfortunately over time some things have gone downhill. The WiFi was not working on our recent visit and was still not three days later. Coffee, Tea and Toilet paper are "starter packs". One roll of toilet paper for two people over three days doesn't cut it. Nor does the stingey, miniscule cake of soap and no handwash in toilet or kitchen. Beach towels have to be hired? $5.50 per towel! Come on it is a beachside resort! And when you bring your own you cannot place them anywhere to dry outside the villa and there is no room in the bathroom because of the tiny towel rack. The games room is a lovely idea for families and it is well maintiained in the grounds but for a family with kids it would cost you a fortune to visit the pool or beach paying for towels. The linen is lovely and beds comfortable and rooms spacious but let's face it you pay for it. You need a car as shops are too far to carry heaps of things and Lewis Street is a disgrace with potholes, although this is nothing to do with the management as it is Taree council who need to do major repairs. Happy memories of time spent here, but prices went up another $100 and cleaning fees for weekend visits of $75 extra on top of usual fees mean no return visits for me. Had reminder of holiday at Ingenia Caravan Park down the road in a cabin with ocean view- could hear the beach at night-and it was brilliant and way cheaper and so generous with all normal supplies of vegan, cruelty free body lotion, soap, shampoo, conditioner and toilet paper. Sometimes the little things really do make a difference! Also pool,at the Meridian Resort is perfect in Summer but crap in Winter as it is only solar heated. The outdoor grassed area that takes you to the beach is great with picnic tables but no shelter so useless when really hot or raining.

Good morning, Rachel
Thank you for your review.
I am sorry to hear that in your opinion our Resort has gone downhill, reading all other reviews yours is the only one that states this. It's quite obvious that since you didn't receive an upgrade you are disappointed. a garden view apartment is normally $205 for a 1 bedroom fully self-contained apartment and a Oceanview is from $310 per night, therefore your $145 per night is a extremely discounted price. For your peace of mind, they are privately owned with high ongoing outlays. (i am sure you wouldn't rent out an apartment to receive no return. I actually cannot find a booking in your name. Unfortunately, we had some issues with our Wi-Fi and had to wait on trades people to attend, totally out of our hands. If you have a problem paying $145.00 per night for 2 people in a resort, then I suggest the caravan park would be your better option or a motel in Taree may take $145. We give you a starter pack and it is your responsibility to then supply your own. If you had of looked in the bathroom cupboard you would have found extra toilet paper. Most people realise that coming to the beach you need to bring beach Towels, and it states it in your terms and conditions. The $5.50 pays for the washing of the towels, if we were to wash beach towels, then the price of the apartments would increase. Do you wash your neighbours' towels for free? Under the law housekeeping Staff must be paid the award wage, as you would be well aware that wages have dramatically increased in the last 10 years you clearly have never Managed a business before. The pool is solar heated, and the spa is a min of 36.8 degrees all year round.

Excellent stay - outstanding service

Excellent stay in apartment 40. The apartment is modern, well equipped and gets amazing sun from 8.30am! The service from the managers Kelli and Kevin was outstanding. Amazing location on the beach. We did the walk to the Wallabi Point and enjoyed the surrounding areas of Taree River and Port Macquarie Coastal walk ( see photos). Old Bar is a lovely, quiet spot. Will definitely be back and highly recommend

A very restful, pleasant experience

The unit was immaculately clean, quite and very comfortable and the pool and recreation room was really great.
The staff were very courteous and obliging. We look forward to returning to this facility again in the near future.
We would recommend this resort to our friends.

Great stay!

I would recommend the 3-bedroom - house 8 - beautiful beach decor, modern bathrooms & fittings & the kitchen has everything you need. Checkin was super easy and friendly & the whole resort was spotless and the gardens immaculate. Walk straight out to a lovely outdoor area with water views to the horizon and walk straight down to the beach. All the locals were very friendly and with Old Bar a sleepy little town it’s so relaxing. Great river fishing a short drive away and beautiful walks and beaches.
