Mixed generation Family Holiday
We had a family holiday here in the July school holidays with 6 adults and 4 children ages from 4 to 15. Staying 7 nights and everyone had a very enjoyable stay. The weather was not as good as expected but we enjoyed the daily activities organised by the resort including trivia, bingo and an excellent amazing race. Staff were friendly and helpful. Shortage of crockery and cutlery at breakfast was annoying but there was plenty of choice. Dined frequently at Salti and medals were excellent, though it was disappointing the lunch menu items weren’t available in the evening and had to dine in to get kids meals for free. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Shame it costly on the ferry to go back to Hamilton Island or we would have done a couple more day trips. We hired a small boat for a half day fishing and Mr 15 loved it. Kids did swim each day and we enjoyed snorkelling, playing giant chess, jenga and the rain forest walk everyday finishing with an icecream each day. We recommend this for a simple relaxing holiday break and would visit again.

Great potential, just needs tighter management
Very difficult to review. It’s a beautiful location and overall the setup is quite nice. Unfortunately, on pretty much every aspect you could think of there’s a BUT. Accepting it’s a small island, with the charm that brings, there will be certain limitations, like limited food options and running out of some things. We struck this several times in the dining venues, including no pizza bases. A cafe would be great, but there isn’t one. There’s an average coffee bar till 11am only. I tried to get a milkshake there, but no ice cream - sorry. There’s a gym, yes, with a number of the limited range of machines broken. The far side of the island is mostly a deserted relic, with some active bits remaining (like the lovely Chapel). It’s a bit creepy. The once romantic Lovers Cove is now a family hangout with a muso playing at sunset. Originally touted as a honeymooners destination, it’s now best described as a family venue with pretty good options for the kids. The Living Reef facility is excellent. A common occurrence is emergency alarms - false ones. We had 4 in one night, totally destroying any chance of a good sleep. No apology from the management, or any makegood as a sign of customer care. Happens all the time, staff say. You’ll need to settle your bill multiple times if you’re doing much, as they put a charge-hold on your room when you hit $1.000. I’d never experienced that before. We weren’t told in advance, and received a note under our door. Seemed out of line with a luxury stay. I’d cleared my bill (for the 2nd time) and was still denied room charge at lunch as the hold hadn’t been lifted. And check your bill. Ours had errors every time we cleared it. Staff are very obliging to fix the errors, but you’ll have to check carefully. The staff are, mostly, very obliging young people. But it’s fair to describe Daydream as an island run by backpackers. And along with that goes limited and varied skills and experience. On mostly everything. You’ll encounter this many times in many ways. The finer dining option, Infiniti, is where it shows the most. The food is nice, but service is pretty haphazard and very amateur. You’ll need patience. Housekeeping is another area where this problem recurs. Attention to detail and pride of service isn’t at the luxury level you might be expecting. The brekky buffet looks like a good offering, but for reasons I couldn’t fathom it’s simply not hot. Luke warm at best. Other buffets seem to manage this. Overall, our feeling was that an endless accumulation of little annoyances started to build and build, to the point where it took the shine off and then a negative attitude on our part started to see us notice more and more things as faults. Instead of riding the bumps.
I’d love to love Daydream. It could be awesome, it deserves to be. Maybe one day it will be. But for us, it wasn’t.
We love the whole region and will return, and try somewhere else.

OASIS couple massage.
My husband and I totally enjoyed our gift to each other for our 25th Wedding anniversary. The Oasis packages was a dream and we could not be happier or more relaxed to enjoy the remainder of our stay at Daydream Island. Best facial and foot therapy I have ever experienced.

Beautiful Location and Great Hospitality
We recently stayed at Daydream Island Resort for work and had a fantastic experience. The location is absolutely beautiful and provided the perfect backdrop for our time on the island.
The staff were welcoming, friendly and incredibly helpful throughout our stay, particularly when it came to assisting with our group and the logistics involved in being there for work. Everything was handled professionally and with a genuine willingness to help, which made our stay so much easier.
The rooms were comfortable and well appointed, and the food throughout our stay was excellent.
The resort itself is stunning, with beautiful surroundings, great facilities and plenty of wonderful locations to enjoy across the island.

Exceptional Staff, Awesome getaway
We had an amazing time overall! Geronimo was amazing—he went out of his way to serve us dinner and at the bar, and his service was top-notch. Kiera at the tour desk was also fantastic; she helped us with rescheduling and made everything so easy and straightforward. On the night of July 24th, there was a blonde girl at reception who helped me with medical supplies and really made us feel comfortable and not like a burden. I can’t thank these staff members enough for making our stay so enjoyable.
