This is like a back packers for older people. It was actually an aged care facility that has been rebadged as a motel.
The biggest issue was that I arrived at 7.20pm to find that there is no reception, no phone number to call and a locked door. Fortunately another guest came along and they had a phone number. I got the key from the drop box and let myself in.

Comedy of Errors

It was Sunday & a stinking hot day (38C). The air conditioning in the car wasn't working. I was hot & tired. I was assigned room 2.
Pros - Room air conditioning works well; bed was comfortable; room was clean & tidy.
Cons - The ex nursing home was not being cooled (other than inside each individual room) the building was hot; the only parking is on the street, you need to lug your luggage up a steep bank from the road to the premises; the COLD water taps in bathroom ran hot water, no matter how long I ran the water, it wouldn't cool down (another customer was having the same problem); the office was open but no staff present & when I tried to ring no one answered the phone (no ability to leave a message), I returned to office a bit later & the office had been closed up);
the shower cubicle was approx 2 feet wide & 5 1/2 feet long, very awkward to shower in such a confined space; needed to use a communal microwave that had not been cleaned out; most of the communal plates & cutlery were used & not washed up (lucky I have my own personal plates, cups & cutlery); & last but not least the toilet blocked up overnight. Very early the next morning I needed to pack & leave to find a public toilet. I'm hoping this was just a one off comedy of errors occurrence.
This ex nursing home has a lot of potential & at present there are a few procedural problems that need to be ironed out. There could be many reasons why the COLD water was running hot, one is that the supply pipes are somehow being heated by the sun, is a possible cause, which is fixable.

Memorial visit

A great value motel, easy to book, easy to book in and out, walk to cbd. It has very good, large common rooms, with lounges, tables and chairs, to prepare breakfast and/relax in between events. Staff are great. They dont ask for payment until you arrive which is ok. Can recommend.

My Husband and I were here overnight. Room was clean and comfortable, reasonably roomy. Clean bathroom but shower was a bit odd. Couldn't adjust shower head so had to use it as hand held.
Close to town.
Check in was easy.
