The room wasn’t clean doonas and sheets had blood stains, shower and behind toilet not clean.

Not recommended.
Our stay was very disappointing. Not recommended.
Booked on the day at their office, they indicated they gave us a good price.
Seems from their online prices they charged us for a Queen Spa room $140 when we actually had a Queen Room $125.
Prior to our review we gave the owners our feedback as seen below but they haven't responded.
The bed was very uncomfortable for us both. Maybe the owners should try it.
There was only one very flat pillow each. No other pillows or cushions.
The room was very dirty. There was dust & dirt on the microwave top and elsewhere. Cobwebs.
The crockery and cutlery in the drawers and the drawers were dirty. A teaspoon was in the drawer with coffee hardened on it. Obviously the cleaners don't check
There is no toilet roll holder, looks to have been broken off the wall. The roll just left on the cupboard. Less than half a roll and no spare one.
No tissues.
The air con & fan were good.
Shower was good.

Reasonable for short stays - could do with better attention to cleaning.
When I was looking for a few nights to stay, I saw that 22 on Bowen had equal numbers of good and poor reviews. From the outside, all the rooms looked similar.
Roma can be difficult to get accommodation at short notice. This motel is conveniently located - easy walking distance to shops, fuel and eating places, and easy to find for travellers.
The room was very compact, yet enough for my needs. Two people would probably want more space. The steps and screen door are a little hazardous if you're carrying anything bulky.
Facilities are good for self-caterers - good fridge size, microwave, toaster, jug. The bed was a bit spongey (you could feel the springs) but OK for sleep. The bathroom area is small but adequate.
I have to mark down the motel for cleanliness: (1) dirty microwave - I had to clean away old crusted food. (2) Unwashed crockery. (3) Abandoned food in the back of the fridge. (4) Stained bedspread and blanket. (5) Cockroaches (Tip: cover all the floor drains before you go to bed.)

very unsafe
There are three timber steps up to the room we were in. There was a rail for safety, however the screen door opened onto this safety rail preventing access to it. It made it really dangerous to go up these timber step ladder like stairs. I am 80 years old and a lot of travellers are ageing people. Please use commen sense and fix this and have the screen doors open to the other side, otherwise anyone having a fall will have a strong case for lack of safety.
