After a long drive the staff were exceptionally helpful and supportive with the commonsense checkin. Secure parking was most pleasing and access was uneventful. Proximity to shops and public transport was also impressive. The room offered was most adequate and the bed was the most comfortable we have experienced over the past 30 years. Well done Mercure and when required we will be back.

The property is lacking a lot of maintenance all throughout lots of paint missing on walls and door handles half hanging off.We got put in room in which they knew the TV , when raised the issue were moved to another room but were made to feel as though we had inconvenienced the staff.

Positives
- room was clean, good housekeeping.
Negatives
- room dark, only mood lighting, unable to see anything at night
- no lit sign from the street. Drove past it first as arrived after dark and sign not kit up, just looked like a grey box from the street
- room FREEZING!!! A unit controller didn't work. Came back late each night and left early so dint get a chance to complain to reception
- receiption smeeled strongly.of disinfectant all 3 nights we were there, would hate to think what other smells this is masking.

Receptionist on arrival was excellent, he was happy and friendly. The rest were quite surly, nothing more beyond basic politeness. Last one on checkout barely grunted out a thank you when I handed over the keys. A simple "how was your stay" would have given them a chance to discuss the above instead.
All in all quite disappointing!

The property was clean and the rooms were clean too. It was a great experience to stay here. The location is great as there is woolies and other eateries around this place.

The hotel and room were clean and comfortable; everything works although the AC had a mind of its own. Every night there were about 6 minibuses blocking the steps to the street and making it difficult to drop off and pick up family from hotel entrance. There is plenty of parking nearby, not sure why these buses get priority over staying guests.
For the price you pay per night, there are better options nearby.
