St Mary's, almost a religious experience

Friendly and welcoming country pub. The owners, Ken and Helen are the perfect hosts, the staff are lovely and the locals are welcoming. The room was comfortable and had a shared lounge on the same floor and great place to chat with fellow travellers. A continental breakfast was provided in the breakfast room, well stocked and handy. The food in the bistro was delicious, freshly cooked and generous portions made it a great place to eat for my 3 night stay. The menu has something for everyone but definitely recommend the pork belly if it's on the chef specials board. The sauce was fantastic. Very reasonably priced and delivered hot and timely. I travelled solo and would 100% return as St Mary's is a lovely town and an easy drive to the west coast. Beautiful scenery and the roads are easy driving. St Mary's...I will be back.

Bit of a letdown from the last time we were there.

Sad to see the pub has become very rundown since the last time we were there about 15 yrs ago. Staff were friendly & meals were reasonable value - but very average pub food.
However, the local council has provided excellent camping facilities at the local showgrounds. Hot showers, timed power ( for hairdryers ? ) & a dump point.

Nice stop off for a meal.

Came here for lunch.Comfortable area and meals were decently priced Friendly staff.Not a great selection of foods but I think most people would find something to have.There is also a specials board with 2 or 3 choices as well as a dessert menu.

Great for lunch

Quite a nice place for a meal.Friendly staff.Not too badly priced meals.Plenty of seating and even a fire on those cold days.Menu is a little small in choice but I think most people would be able to find something. Meals came out fairly quickly.
