Amazing place

Very surprised how exceptional this resort is
From the time we arrived the staff were fantastic
The room we stayed in was one of the best it was in the rainforest nice and quiet and relaxing
Food was very nice we have no complaints just praise for the staff and chefs
The complimentary resort shuttle into town was a bonus
Highly recommended this resort

Poor service and cleanliness below average.

The maintenance and cleanliness is below average. There was mold and hair everywhere and i think blood on the wall. The dryer and washer was cleaned after previous guests. The service staff need a class in service specially the cleaners. Parking is also very limited and the gym is a shoe box. The resteraunt menu was also sticky and had food on it. For $450 you’d expect for it at least to be clean. Also bring your own toothbrush because there are none in the bathrooms.

Our check in experience was 5 star. Our room was exceptionally clean and well presented.
The restaurant staff and bar staff were both friendly and attentive to our needs.

Very quiet and soothing though areas under construction/hoarded off so a bit make shift. Gym is not a resort gym, just a room and guest rooms furnished and decorated to basic not resort level. Menu was good and staff tried to be friendly. TVs had chrome cast which is always a bonus.

The venue itself is just beautiful. Clean spacious rooms. Hugh at reception exemplified what good service looks like. Attentive, warm, efficient.
However my experience in the restaurant was disappointing. I arrived for lunch and found the menu quite limited…thats ok. Then the power went out..this was clearly outside of the venues control so whilst I was disappointed, it’s not their fault. However once I was seated, the waitress didn’t come back to take a drink order or anything. I sat at my table looking towards her..she was happily on her phone for about 5 minutes. Eventually another waitress realised I was being ignored so she came and served me. Told me that due to the power outage all they could offer were hot chips or green salad. Really? What about dips, cheese, platters? No, I was assured chips or green salad was it. So I ordered chips which came out looking a bit “twice cooked” and were nothing special.
For me, a venue like this should be offering guests some kind of compensation for the power outage, even just a complimentary wine. Because whilst they can’t control the outage, they can still go the extra mile to ensure the customers disappointment is turned into pleasure. And by the way, there were only half a dozen customers in there so it would have been a small cost for a big gesture.
Anyway for me, I will try somewhere else next time, purely because the restaurant experience was underwhelming.
