Honest home-style regional cuisine
Dorfgasthof Adler is conveniently located in the centre of Mellau. Here, great emphasis is placed on regional and seasonal ingredients, which is reflected not only in the choice of food, but also in the quality on the plate. During our visit, we opted for the original Wiener Schnitzel – a classic that convinced us in every respect.
The schnitzel, traditionally made of veal, was masterfully prepared. The breadcrumbs were wonderfully golden brown and crispy, not too heavy or greasy. The meat was tender and juicy, just as you would want from a Viennese schnitzel. There was also a rich portion of perfectly fried fries, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside – the ideal side dish.
Of particular note are the cranberries, which gave the dish that certain extra touch. They had a wonderfully fruity note that blended harmoniously with the savory taste of the schnitzel. They were by no means oversweetened, but finely fruity, so they worked perfectly as a contrast to the crispy breadcrumbs and tender meat. This small but crucial component showed that every detail is taken care of at Dorfgasthof Adler.
The atmosphere in the inn was welcoming and cosy, with the typical charm of a traditional Vorarlberg inn. The service was attentive and warm, which rounded off the overall dining experience.
Overall, Dorfgasthof Adler offers a down-to-earth, honest cuisine that nevertheless shows refinement and attention to detail. The Wiener Schnitzel with french fries and the fruity-fine cranberries is a real highlight that should not be missed. For friends of regional cuisine and anyone who appreciates good food in a cosy atmosphere, the Dorfgasthof Adler is a real insider tip.

Excellent characteristic cuisine
Very fresh ingredients and excellent service.
Even if the prices are not cheap but compared to other similar structures in the area it has haute cuisine.
Only criticism is that the toilet needs to be renovated.

Nice, friendly and quiet - good for family
Good breakfast.
Try the restaurant if you go for tasteful homemade traditional food at fair prices - very nice!
