Fantastic

The large Saualpe is in Carinthia - you can go on many short and long hikes there. The altitude is 2079 m. There is a summit cross at the Ladinger Spitze. From there you have a great panoramic view and a board with explanations of what is what. It's worth it.

A lasting (bad) memory

We won two nights with half board at the holiday fair here and were of course very pleased.
We then travelled there in November 2023.
Our room we got seemed like a bigger broom cupboard with a bed.
We also had our dog with us, who was charged 17€ per day. Unfortunately, I do not understand what justifies this high price. In addition, we were not allowed into the breakfast room and, like misfires, sat separately in the vestibule.
Actually, we didn't really feel welcome.
However, what is positive to mention is that the service staff (especially Ms. Sylvia) was very friendly. Thanks to these employees! Also the food was really excellent.
I think to myself, if you win such a short break, you should present yourself positively for advertising purposes and not give the guests the feeling that they are actually unwanted.
That was a great pity and we will certainly not be able to give a recommendation.
Since the ratings seem to have been taken out of Google, I will publish my impressions here again.
Unfortunately, the "host" cannot handle criticism, which can be clearly seen from the reactions of the other reviews.

Absolutely no respect for the clients / would not recommend

I booked a 2 night stay at this hotel as a surprise for my husband's birthday. We booked a Family room with 2 separate rooms and 2 king beds. When we arrived we received the room key and we observed that instead the family room we have an apartment on 2 levels and instead of the two king beds there were a king bed and a bunk bed. We have a 6 year old child, there would have been no way she could sleep on the ground floor all by herself. We tried to reason with the owner and to explain we reserved a different room but he was rather annoyed saying that we got an upgrade and the room we got now is better (who decides that? If I booked a kind of room you give me that room, not make changes on your own without even making a courtesy call to ask me if I agree). Ultimately we had to call booking and explain the situation and we could cancel cost free. We got into our car and returned home. I have never, in my life, experienced this kind of behavior from a property owner. As a hotel manager you should be attentive to the guest's wishes, not decide for them and then be really surprised they don't agree with your opinion.

Lovely mini-resort with great atmosphere

we stayed at Panoramadorf Saualpe for a week with 3 children (15, 13 and 9). This lovely place is a 3-star that would actually deserve 4 stars. It's like a mini-village consisting of the main house where hotelrooms are located (this is also where the family lives) and where you have breakfast and dinner, a barn for the (still ongoing) small scale agricultural activities, a wellness building incl a swimming pool that can be closed so also used during bad weather/winter, and a building where 2 larger apartments are located (where we stayed). The place literally has everything, cooking is really excellent, and the staff (incl the family) very, very friendly and helpful. The place has beautiful views all the way towards the south of carinthia. Hiking possibilities are endless, and very suitable for kids as well because not to steep/high. They also encouraged us to charge our (full) electric car, for the Tesla drivers among you: you can charge at 3*16A meaning 11 kW so your car charges some 48 km per hour. Just great, thanx again family Sereinig we had the best week overe here!!!

True Austrian flavour

We've been at this hotel after reading the nice comments on Tripadvisor, and we weren't disappointed: the house is managed by a lovely family, starting with the landlady, who started the business, fantastic in preparing every day sweets, fresh cakes and the evening desserts. We had a small problem with low heating in our room and the owners immediately provided us with an electric heater. Everything we asked was given. The hotel has a great view on the valley and on the mountains, a pleasure for the eyes. A small wellness area, 40 mt walk from the hotel, is available: maybe providing the walk with something to protect when you go there ( in case of rain or snow: a gangway with a roof or a protection ) could be a good idea. Breakfast is made of a rich buffet, with different types of bread, cheese, ham, home-made jams etc etc. Dinners have a choice between two soups and two main courses, plus salad ( rich salad bar ) and dessert. Food is typical Austrian, very very good and abundant. The meal rooms are two: one traditional Austrian, very intimate and cozy, with wood and romantic lights, serving as restaurant for external guests. Hotel guests have a big room, a little bit inpersonal. Maybe warmer lights, creating sort of niches for each table, could warm up the room. Anyway the experience was very very satisfying!
