A perfect place to stay for a ski trip
This review is going to be so gushing and positive that you'll think I've been paid by the hotel. I promise you I haven't.
We stayed at the Hotel Olympia for the third week of March for a skiing trip. From the moment we arrived - luggage was removed from us and replaced in our hands by glasses of prosecco - to the moment we left, our stay was fabulous.
It's always staff that make the difference between a good hotel and a great and this place is no exception. All of the staff were brilliant - front desk, restaurant, cleaners, all amazing. I love that the staff's personalities were allowed to shine through and they all seemed to really enjoy their jobs.
Room (210) was brilliant - close to lift, but zero noise. Big room, well appointed, spacious bathroom with a big bath / shower. TV could do with updating (I ended up watching Netflix on my laptop), but that was the only tiny negative.
Our stay was half-board, so I wasn't sure what to expect about the food - but I needn't have worried. Not only was there plenty of choice - and lots of food (!) - but it was really tasty too. Breakfast was mostly buffet - with things like omelettes / eggs cooked to order. Afternoon tea brought a different tasty surprise every day. Every evening had a different theme - all delicious.
Ski/boot room was very modern with lockers were good quality with proper heaters in them. It's a short walk from the ski room to access the piste and a slightly longer walk (still not far) to get from the piste back to the ski room.
The hotel (and I suspect other hotels in the area) have arrangements with the local ski hire shop, so you can get a shuttle bus from the hotel to the shop and back. It's super convenient!
Sauna / steam room / relaxation area facilities are top notch.
There isn't loads to do in Obergurgl itself - it is mostly hotels, but that didn't bother us as we were there to ski. And aside from skiing, sauna and eating, we didn't have much time for anything else!
10/10 would definitely stay there again.

Best place to stay in Obergurgl
We had a fabulous stay at the hotel Olympia, the staff could not be more friendly and attentive. They catered for my gluten and lactose intolerance always able to offer alternative meals. Our room was spacious overlooking the slopes. The boot room is fantastic. Obergurgl is very quiet as in the hotel. Great to relax and unwind. The 3-5pm 'tiffin' was also excellent. Lovely hotel close to the slopes with excellent hospitality
Great week in sunny Obergurgl with conditions that were absolutely perfect.
The hotel is modern and provides excellent and varied fayre to suit all tastes. In the afternoon there is a small buffet of sweet and savoury "snacks " that should be taken with care so as not to spoil the delicious multi course dinners.
Our room was comfortable but if booking again I would ask for a room overlooking the slopes as the room was above the hotel entrance beside 2 other hotels and got noisy from 6am with staff and deliveries.
The bathroom was also worth a comment as anyone with any mobility issues would not have been able to access the shower due to a large step into the bath to reach a shower which if used as directed would soak the bathroom. Fortunately we had no issues getting in or out but towels had to cover the floor to prevent a flood!
None of this however would present a revisit The "ace" card however are the staff - just fantastic. Great work from the Kroll family.

Fabulous
We had a wonderful time at this hotel. It is comfortable & very clean. The service from management & all staff was excellent. Lovely food with lots of options for breakfast & dinner. Great bar area. The boot room is excellent. We hired boots & skis from Lohmann who provide a free shuttle bus service & collected them at the end of the holiday. A short & easy walk onto the slopes & back again. Highly recommended!

Wonderful family run hotel with excellent food .
