Clear recommendation
We spent a wonderful snowy weekend at the Gern Alm. The Alm is located right on the cross-country ski trail and is a perfect entry point even for beginners.
Very cozy, newly renovated rooms. The spacious relaxation room, the small outdoor saunas and the natural swimming pond are also very nice.
Both breakfast and dinner tasted excellent.
A visit in the summer for hiking is a sure bet!

Great food, relaxed atmosphere
Traveling with children and/or looking for a total "Alp" experience, the Gernalm is the place to be. Manfred and Heidi are both very hospitable and serve great food. our children feel at home, as do our parents. Especially at night, you feel you have the place all to yourself. Children (as well as their parents) have always enjoyed all food served, proper meals that differ every day. We'll be visiting for the 5th time soon, and probably a 6th time as well!

Hidden gem
Great place for family, young active people, older people for anybody who likes beautiful nature and classic austrian style. It is placed in a valley and there is nothing around this place, but you can easily get to other places by bike, car or just walking. This place is created for active people, who like cycling, mountains walking and they also like quiet place with peace and nature.
The restaurant is done in classic style, typical austrian food is served with smile on face, you feel there like at home. Children love this place, great playground and real animals (rabbits, deers)
Rooms are nice and clean, kept clean everyday, they even put flowers on your pillow everyday. We love this place and we stayed there again on our return from our next destination. It is really relaxing environment and very clean place to be.

Toller Aufenthalt im Schnee
Wir hatten ein sehr schönes, sauberes und geräumiges Zimmer mit super Ausblick. Frühstück war reichhaltig und gut. Wir haben auch jeden Abend hier gegessen, tolle Auswahl und sehr lecker. Man kann sich gratis Schlitten und Schneeschuhe leihen. Schön ruhig gelegen, ca. 5 km bis in den Ort.

Schöne Zimmer, leckeres Frühstück, super Lage
Wir haben eine ganze Woche unseres Sommerurlaubs auf der schönen Gern Alm verbracht und wären gerne noch länger geblieben. Selten haben wir uns in einem Hotel so rundum wohl gefühlt...
Zimmer:
Wir hatten ein neu-renoviertes Zimmer mit Balkon und Blick in die Berge. Schöne Einrichtung mit viel Holz, schickem Bad, viel Platz für zwei Personen, alles sehr sauber, wunderschöner Blick in die Berge!!
Das Zimmer würden wir sofort wieder buchen.
(Auf den Zimmern wurde übrigens W-Lan angeboten, dies hat jedoch nicht immer einwandfrei funktioniert.)
Essen:
Insgesamt ein sehr gutes Frühstück, leckere frische Brötchen, frische Milch und Butter, Wurst und Käse, Marmelade..
Einziger Kritikpunkt: Der Kaffee kam aus dem Automaten und hat uns nicht wirklich gut geschmeckt.
Den ein oder anderen Abend haben wir auch auf der Gern Alm gegessen. Das Essen war lecker, deftig und reichhaltig; die Bedienungen sehr freundlich.
Insgesamt sind daher die teilweise schlechten Kritiken zum Essen hier auf der Seite für uns absolut nicht nachvollziehbar!
Lage und Umgebung:
Die Alm erreicht man über eine knapp 5 km lange Mautsstraße von Pertisau aus. Dementsprechend ist man ein wenig abseits des Achensees, aber - zum Glück! - auch abseits des Touristen-Trubels. Tagsüber kann es bei schönem Wetter zwar auch auf der Terasse der Alm mal etwas voller werden, spätestens am Abend ist aber alles wieder ruhig.
Direkt von der Alm starten mehrere schöne Wander- und Mountainbikerouten ins Karwendelgebirge. Sehr praktisch, dass man nicht erst ins Auto steigen muss!
Zudem gibt es zahlreiche Spielmöglichkeiten für Kinder (Spielplatz, Trampolin, Wildgehege, ..).
Insgesamt haben wir eine tolle Woche auf der Gern Alm verbracht, was auch an der freundlichen, fröhlichen und hilfsbereiten Gastgeberfamilie gelegen hat!
