great b&b to explore surroundings

we were here this July. Friendly people to receive us and tell us all about the surroundings. We wanted a huttentaxi to Wetterkreuzhutte and they booked it for us. I could do this myself but it was nice that they took care (and arranged a pickup near our hotel). Breakfast is in a small but cosy room. The choice is typical for a b&b (not soo extensive as in a hotel of course) but with a great choice of breads. walking distance to a nice restaurant in Praegraten.

Traditioneller Bauernhof, tolle Hochgebirgslage, familiäre Atmosphäre

Wir haben Anfang Februar 2022 eine knappe Woche Winterurlaub bei Familie Kröll im Hansenhof gemacht. Schöner alter Hof mit viel Holz, gemütliche, sehr saubere Zimmer, grandioses Frühstück mit selbst hergestellten Produkten (Almbutter, Brot, Marmeladen, Joghurt, Wurst, Speck, Milch ...). Herr und Frau Kröll sind äußerst herzliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Sie wissen viel über Wanderwege und über die Gegend und geben Tipps. Wir haben uns auch menschlich sehr wohl gefühlt. Man pflegt am Hof Tradition - sogar Hausmusik - und ist weltoffen zugleich. Der Hansenhof liegt im hübschen Dorf Prägraten auf 1.300 Meter Höhe in einer großartigen Bergkulisse, nur wenig unterhalb der Baumgrenze. Wir haben direkt ab dem Hansenhof großartige Winterwanderungen im Sonnenschein und in unvergesslicher Bergkulisse gemacht: v.a. über Bichl nach Hinterbichl und auf die Bodenalm. Ab und zu mussten wir etwas schneestapfen und bei vereisten Wegen vorsichtig sein, so erschloss sich uns eine winterliche Hochgebirgslandschaft, wie sie sonst wohl nur Tourengehern zugänglich ist. Wir wollten einen Urlaub ohne Schizirkus und Lärm, sondern mit schöner unberührter Natur, viel Schnee, Ruhe und Ursprünglichkeit. Das haben wir hier gefunden. Auch einen kleinen Schilift gibt es in Prägraten, und sehr schöne, gepflegte Loipen. Essen gehen kann man im Gasthaus Großvenediger, 10 Minuten zu Fuß vom Hansenhof, sehr gute Küche. Gute Busverbindungen, der Bus ist mit Gästekarte gratis, die Haltestelle „Gemeindeamt“ ist 50 Meter vom Hansenhof entfernt.
