Two Nights in Salzburg

Modern hotel in an old building half a block from the Mirabell Garden. Our room was well-sized , and the air con worked well on very hot days. The bathroom was spacious, but the shower a little tight. There is an elevator, or you can walk the interesting spiral staircase. The hotel has digital self-check-in in the lobby, which didn't work for us. Fortunately, we arrived while staff was present and we went upstairs to take care of it. I don't know how this would have worked out if we had arrived very late or early. The reception staff were very friendly, as was the cleaning staff who did a good job. Breakfast is not included, and which worked out to $33 (forget how many Euros) for 2 people, which we had on a morning we were leaving early for a tour. Our tour company (Panoramic maybe?) begins their bus tours directly outside the front door of this hotel. We were given a courtyard room, so cannot speak to noise level of street-side rooms. There are a few restaurants close by, but it's not difficult to walk to the old town for more options and for sightseeing. The main train station is a bit of a hike, though. Would stay there again.

Perhaps others find the self check-in process easy but it was a struggle for me. I won’t be staying at such a hotel again.

Good location, clean. Terrible shower drainage. Too minimalistic. Should equip the room with a few plates and cups.

The room was very comfortable and spacious even for a family of four. Everyone was kind and helpful. It is the perfect location to explore downtown. We especially loved our view of the castle!

Digital check-in.

Quiet hotel midway between station and old town.
Generally well kept. We spent 3 nights in a comfortable, clean proom.
Check-in was digital. We did pre-arrival check-in but still had to do another digital check-in on arrival. No staff. We got help from other guests to do so and we gave help later to other guests arriving. Not the best of welcomes after a long trip.
We omitted room servicing for 2 days - not serviced on 3rd day despite tag on door. We returned after 8pm - staffed office had closed.
It is a good hotel, but I wasn't impressed by the lack of personnel.
