Great stay!

this hotel was very good. The food was traditional and very good. The hotel adapted to all conceivable circumstances, which was very good. Our flight was 4 hours late and when we finally arrived, they prepared soup and toast for us even though it was very late. Our flight home was very early and they gave us a breakfast bag. The hotells rooms are newly renovated, modern and pleasant. The hotel has a basement where you can store your skis and boots as well as a drying cabinet. The only downside to the hotel is that it is a difficult walk from the ski lift, it takes about 10 minutes if you walk with boots and skis on your back. overall, the stay has been very good.

Highly recommend

Really lovely hotel for stay at Bad Gastein. Hotel is clean, everything was fresh, super friendly staf helped with restaurant recommendations, great location- quite, but close to city centre. Thermes are 10min walk, supermarket 8min walk.

Ok rooms - terrible food

We (family of 4) stayed in two rooms that were newly renovated, one was spacious and nice, the other VERY small. The hotel is situated 10 min. walk from the lift and 25 min. walk from the city centre. Supermarked 5 min. walk away.
Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful, others could not smile once in a whole week.
Unfortunately, I have to say that the worst part was the food. Breakfast: uninspired and the same every single day. Evening: simply not worth eating, no taste, no sense of how to cook a good meal, we felt like animals that had to be fed.
But thanks for providing us with at breakfast bag when we had to leave very early in the morning for our flight home :)!

Nice place to explore Bad Gastein, excellent value and service

This was our firs time in Bad Gastein for skiing - we have spent 4 nights in hotel Simander in December 2022. Hotel is well located (10-15 minutes by foot from the main train station, ski slopes and thermal spas) in a quiet neighborhood and with a free parking. Rooms were spacious, warm, comfy, bright and spotless clean with a great view of mountains from the balcony. Beds were comfortable and Wi-Fi was mostly good. Food was great and very tasty with large portions - good varieties on breakfast, two choices for main course for dinner with soup and dessert included. Gints and the rest of the staff (waiters, chef, cleaning) were great, helpful and very friendly and we really felt very welcomed there. We also recommend some local schapps or bear served there. Thank you, we will be back for sure :)
