2 Week Stay at a Traditional Austrian Hotel
I stayed at the Landhotel & Gasthof St. Florian for 2 weeks from end of Jan to beginning of Feb 2020
It’s a clean and homely hotel with friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them to help me. The restaurant had a good selection of food, with my favourites being the Zander (fish) and Goulash. Every meal I had was well cooked and delivered promptly.
The room rate was very reasonable, which also included a traditional style Austrian breakfast, including cold cut meats, cheeses, scrambled & boiled eggs and streaky bacon.
Location of the hotel was also good, with the small and quaint local town (Scharding) being only a 20 minute walk away.
Special shoutout for Catalina who made sure I had enough of everything for my breakfast each day. Extra special shoutout for Dani who took care of reception and was kind enough to accompany me to the sausage shop right across the road from the hotel to make sure I got a good selection of sausages to bring home for my family to try.
Looking forward to visiting the Landhotel again at some point in the future.

Terrible!
I was with my father for lunch in this formerly excellent place. We have often enjoyed the wonderful Austrian cuisine here in the past. The menu was surprisingly clear. We opted for a Viennese-style schnitzel with fries (a real Viennese schnitzel was not offered). I just have to say it: we have never eaten such a bad schnitzel in Austria. It was neither seasoned nor juicy. When did the landlords decide not to season meat anymore? If the host already saves on salt, pepper and peppers - well meal. This fries booth schnitzel lay on some potato sticks. The side salad was cheeky. There were three tall lettuce leaves in the middle, as is customary today. Then sideways a teaspoon of coleslaw, about two tablespoons of carrot salad and at one point I actually had a piece of potato in my mouth. The carrot salad was totally spicy, the carrots had no own taste and a very fibrous consistency (maybe feed carrots?) and everything was topped by a whitish, tasteless sauce (about a small tablespoon). Add a tiny glass bowl with a red jam. The schnitzel was hardly to choke down - it was dry with a very thick breadcrumbs. It was also annoying that the salad was served even after asking several times, only when we had already eaten half of this meat. Well, and as described: he was absolutely no joy!!!! We can't make a recommendation at all. As a guest, when you realize how much you save on products and how lovelessly the food is beaten together, you just stay away. The waitress matched that impression. She probably sensed our dissatisfaction and did not ask if we liked it. Unfortunately, I have to give a point, otherwise I cannot write a review. You get fed up with hanging and choking ;-), but you can no longer enjoy a nice lunch here.

Avoid!!!
Unfortunately you can’t leave negative score so I gave one star but in reality it doesn’t deserve any good remark at all.
I stayed or better to say I should have stayed in this hotel for one night on 10.08.2019. Communication before my arrival was good and I received booking confirmation via mail with instruction that because of my late arrival key from the hotel will be left in front of the hotel in order for me to be able to enter as they don’t have reception working late evening. I was traveling 12 hours with two small kids (age 2 and 5) and came to the hotel realising these guys forgot to leave the key, WTF!!!
I ended up sleeping in the car and if you have a family you will know how that feels. Eventually without much/any sleep I continued my journey for another 8 hours to my home risking driving under these circumstances but did not have better choice. Fortunately we managed to arrival safely but not thanks to these guys.
Anyone smart enough, especially those traveling, should avoid this hotel unless you are willing to risk having no sleep at all.

One night stop over
Lovely Landhotel, warm welcome beautiful modern room with new bathroom.
Being a lovely June evening we ate outside in the beer garden great food
shared a cold meat platter to start and the Tiroler Liver to follow. Good service and lovely garden many locals being a Friday evening. We retired to the bar for coffee and snapps.
Breakfast buffet was excellent with lots of local meats and cheese.
Better than staying in closeby Scharding the river Inn flows beyond the church and flood plain.
