Back in happiness again
We have already been guests at the Seevilla for the twentieth time, whether in summer, winter, or autumn... it is always an experience and a vacation for the soul. This year we once again experienced mountains in flames; from the terrace and from our room with a lake view, one could see the illuminated Loser and Trisselwand wonderfully; there is no more beautiful place than right by the lake; the terrace is an experience, we always feel comfortable in the wellness area; this time there was wonderful swimming weather, and we enjoyed the sunbathing lawn and the pier; one has a wonderful view of Loser and Trisselwand and could let one's eyes wander over the magnificent Ausseer landscape for hours; swimming in Lake Altaussee was an experience; warm, clear, and soft water invites you to swim or stand-up paddle; the gastronomy in the restaurant left nothing to be desired; service and quality of the food are convincing in all areas. In addition, we keep meeting other regular guests here with whom it is nice to strike up a conversation. Upon departure, we are a little wistful every time and are always looking forward to our next stay at the Seevilla.

Great location by the lake
A fairly no frills hotel, but does the job and has a fantastic location write by the lake, and stunning views of the valley all around. Breakfast was a little disappointing, but overall I was pretty happy with my stay.

Price and 4-star superior claim unfortunately do not match the performance
We spent a few days as a couple in August at Seevilla Altaussee. With a price of 498 € per night including half board and the classification as a 4-star superior hotel, our expectations were correspondingly high. Unfortunately, these have not been met in several essential respects.
We would like to emphasize the reception at the reception. We were greeted very friendly, the reservation and check-in went smoothly. The entrance and reception area of the hotel also makes a very nice and well-kept impression.
Our room, however, was directly under the roof. With outside temperatures of about 35 degrees and no air conditioning, it was correspondingly hot there. In this price category, this is difficult for us to understand. Also the decor of the room we found to be very old-fashioned and not appropriate to the price called.
Unfortunately, the room cleaning did not meet the level we expect from a 4-star superior hotel. Among other things, a trash bin was not emptied, so we had to leave it clearly visible. Also the beds were made rather careless and our sleeping clothes were not treated very carefully.
Another major criticism was the restaurant area. The dining room was also not air-conditioned in the high temperatures, so that the food became partly a sweaty affair. The breakfast we found rather paltry. In addition, dishes were loudly put in and cleared during breakfast, which we found annoying. The food offered was not labeled.
The afternoon snack was also very sparse for our expectations and this hotel category. Several times, offered food was empty and was not refilled promptly. We had to look for an operator ourselves and ask; sometimes it took around 20 minutes before something was added.
Our biggest criticism, however, was the service in the restaurant. On the first evening, we were introduced to a responsible supervisor and our drinks order was taken up. After about 30 minutes we still hadn't received anything. In the meantime, we had already asked another employee to bring us at least a beer and a water – we also waited in vain at first. When we brought this up, we would have expected at least a brief apology. Instead, we found the reactions musty and unfriendly.
Unfortunately, this impression continued on the following days. Twice we got something else than ordered. On another occasion we wanted to order a drink and approached a female employee for it. We were then told to go to the bar ourselves and order there. For us, this does not meet the demands of the house or this price category.
There were also contradictory statements regarding a desired table reservation for outside. After we – like other guests – reserved a table for outside, we were told in the evening that you would only take everything outside when the guests arrived. At this point we no longer felt like waiting and moving again.
In fairness, we would like to mention that we later had another head where the service was finally satisfactory. He even apologized mutatis mutandis for the previous experience. So it's obviously different.
Nevertheless, our conclusion is disappointing. The friendly reception and the beautiful public areas cannot compensate for the considerable weaknesses in room comfort, housekeeping, breakfast, afternoon snack and especially in restaurant service for us. At 498 € per night including half board and the claim of a 4-star superior hotel, we expect significantly more attention, professionalism and service orientation.
For us, therefore, the price-performance ratio is unfortunately not right.
