Vacation with a "topping"
For almost thirty years now, a constant longing has brought me back again and again to the Hotel Hochschober on the Turracher Höhe. Over the course of a lifetime, the wishes and needs one has on vacation often change. - Whether newly in love, as a young family with small children, later with young adults, again as a couple, or for special occasions with friends or the extended family, and even for time-outs just by myself, I have been able to be a guest at the Hochschober.
Peace and relaxation, yoga, wellness, summer and winter sports are my motives for "hochschobering" - a synonym for a unique vacation, with a "topping," so to speak.
Every time I return, I immerse myself in a wonderful "stage" - and just like in a play, the house stages itself anew again and again, but with consistent quality and top actors!
A powerful place with a warm atmosphere, stylish ambiance, high-quality cuisine, attentive staff, and innovative, spirited hosts - that is how I can describe and recommend the hotel.
Still feeling the aftereffects of my last refreshing dip in Lake Turracher, the anticipation for my next stay is already growing again.

My perfect place to relax; pure recreation in a wonderful location where you always find new favorite spots. But the best part is returning, the warmth with which you are welcomed. In the end, you simply promise to come back again.

Sleeping in? No chance – it's way too beautiful here!
There are hotels where you feel comfortable – and then there is the Hochschober. For us, it was once again a stay where simply everything was just right.
What makes this place so special is, above all, the people. Everyone in the house treats guests with a warmth and attentiveness that one rarely experiences these days. You never have the feeling of being a room number, but are truly perceived as a guest.
The biggest problem at the Hochschober? Sleeping in!
Not because the beds are uncomfortable – on the contrary, they are wonderful. But the offerings are simply too tempting. To be the first to jump into the heated lake pool at 7:00 AM sharp, followed by a hearty breakfast, a hike or a yoga session (which I skipped just to be safe), later into the totally new sauna area or simply into the relaxation room of the unique hammam, a cup of tea in the China Tower, enjoying the view in between, and letting the day wind down with a magnificent dinner with a sensational cheese buffet.
Actually, you intend to do nothing for once – and quickly realize that you are far too curious about all the possibilities for that.
It is especially nice that everything here seems so natural. Nothing is forced or exaggerated – the entire offering fits together harmoniously and creates an atmosphere in which you can relax and be active at the same time. Added to that is the dreamlike location directly on Lake Turrach with a view into Styria , which is impressive at any time of day.
A big compliment to the entire "team with heart"!
You can tell that work is done here with passion and that the well-being of their guests is truly close to the hosts' hearts.
We will definitely be back soon!

Uns ist absolut bewusst, dass wir zwar Entschleunigung empfehlen, aber gleichzeitig unsere Gäste mit einem bunten Strauß an vielfältigen Angeboten verführen.
Wählen zu können ist doch der Luxus, sich nicht entscheiden zu müssen, was man vermissen könnte, sondern zu überlegen, was man als Erstes genießt.
Besonders freut es uns, dass Sie das Kümmern & Bemühen hier im Haus als natürlich und angemessen empfinden.
Der Schmäh zwischen den Steirern und den Kärntnern, die sich den malerischen Turracher See teilen dürfen, ist mir quasi in die Wiege gelegt worden - allerdings genau spiegelverkehrt. Wie gut, dass wir uns immer ein bisschen liebevoll necken.

Winter wonderland in the Austrian Alps
Hotel Hochschober high in the Austrian Alps is what you call luxury. Went to a 4 day ski break with my wife. They take care of everything, you can experience the professionalism right from the first contact with the online booking throughout the stay till you leave. Staff, facilities, servicies, food everything up to the highest of standards. Wellness center with the heated natural lake (what a flash to swim in an otherwise frozen lake), the different saunas (stunning panorama) steam bathes, fireplace restroom and especially the classic oriental hammam and the Chinese style tower with tea house and meditation and yoga room is simply world class. Will definitely come back.

Perfect SPA weekend
We went with my husband for a spa weekend and it was perfect
The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always happy to help
A highlight were SPA facilities, especially hammam and of course great cocktail evenings next to the fire place at the bar in cozy atmosphere
It is a 3rd visit to Hochschober for us and next one is already booked for February!
