Lovely stay

We stayed here for a week in May and throughly enjoyed it , it’s in a fantastic location for everything and 2 minutes for the underground station, lots of bars and restaurants nearby, rooms are basic but spacious kettle tea/coffee facilities, 2 beds, shower gel , no fridge but all we needed to explore this vast beautiful capital
It’s quite magical inside with lots of the building still holding the monastery charm would definitely use again

Absolutely wonderful, I highly recommend this lovely place

I highly recommend this lovely place. Lisel, one of the receptionists, sent particular and helpful instructions before our visit, and was incredibly informative and supportive throughout, as were all the other friendly staff we encountered during our all too short visit.
The location is perfectly convenient for exploring Vienna, the room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and well thought out, with everything we needed. The atmosphere is very special, as it is a religious monastery and therefore quiet and safe. Breakfast was superb! Hopefully I will be able to return at some point in the future.

Top class stay in the monastery!

A peaceful haven in a busy city! Comfortable room and a first class breakfast, minutes from the heart of the city.
If you are here on a Saturday, be sure to do the 2.30 tour of the Schottenstift - a fascinating insight into the history of the monastery you are staying in. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Great property in great location

The property is in a great central location to experience the city. Perfectly clean structure, everything works and breakfast is good. All without excess but nothing is missing indeed you experience the feeling of being in the right size.

Fantastic Value in the Heart of Vienna

I am so glad we found the Benediktushaus for our sister-trip to Vienna in early December. The location was fantastic for us visiting the Christmas Markets - especially the Altwiener Christkindlmarkt literally just outside the door. We were a 10 minute walk to Stephensplatz, the Rathaus and the Hofburg complex. If anything was further out, transit was easily accessible.
The rooms were very standard, but comfortable. There was plenty of room with shelves, a closet with hangars, a good-sized ledge in the bathroom, a working towel heater, etc. The bedding was comfortable, the towels were adequate. Shampoo/body wash was provided, but no lotion or conditioner. The hairdryer was dated... but we didn't stay here for luxurious comforts.
As mentioned in other reviews the European-style breakfast was very nice and the staff was always helpful if something was running low.
We were on the second floor (the same floor as the breakfast room), and enjoyed sitting out in the shared area in the evenings since we were in 2 different rooms.
We arrived during business hours, but if you arrive after-hours, you will need to pay attention to the instructions they provide to you. The doors are locked in the evenings and your key is needed for access.
We used the spiral staircase to get to the 2nd floor, but the small elevator is available. The elevator is in the center of the spiral staircase, so it is small. There are also several small steps before you get to the elevator, one step up at the exterior door and another step up to access the elevator.
The staff are great and very welcoming. This was really a very good value for staying in Vienna city center.
