More Hostel than it is Hotel
The negatives however can be spoken about all night long.
The building and rooms are all tired and in need of an update. My room was closer to a prison cell than a hotel room. It was also 300m walk from the main building - very odd and not explained at point of booking.
The food isn’t good. Breakfast was ‘sloppy’ with no one around. Dinner was oily and tasteless (I’m not sure how they made a schnitzel so bad in the home of the schnitzel). Beer was flat and not a great taste.
Lastly the staff were rude. The bar staff simply ignore you and serve your drinks without any smiles (ever). The waiting on staff much the same as the bar staff. The receptionist couldn’t care less.
Considering our booking was for 9 people you’d have thought they would make a bit more effort.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

For Vienna
Very simple rooms (unfortunately with carpet, which I would ban from hotels by law), without air conditioning but with a fan. Good cleaning. Large and comfortable bathroom.
Extremely easy to reach has a very large indoor parking. Discreet breakfast with more salty than sweet and automatic dispensers for cappuccino and juices; good dinner served in the internal garden.
The Fabrik is located just outside Vienna but has the great advantage of having the underground stop line U6 Siebenhirten (terminus) reachable in 15' walk or 3' by car with easy and free parking attached.
This allowed us to visit Vienna comfortably in 4 leaving the car at the hotel.
Metro tickets are available at each stop at the automatic machines and are divided by single ride (lasting 90 minutes from the clocking), daily, 24h etc....
In general the hotel structure is spartan but comfortable and at an affordable price.

three day stay
Convenient for the tram into the town centre, I would suggest that you get a map at Karlplatz which has on it the tram numbers although the 26 or 1 is what you need.
The restuarant on the other hand serves delicious and varied meals and the rooms are clean and tidy, there is plenty of parking.
