Family ski trip

A great week over Easter spent here as a base for skiing. Great size room with own cooking facilities and eating area. Nothing fancy but comfortable and perfect for skiing.
We just had our evening meals here which were fantastic every night, loved it all especially the ribs, meat fondue and deer stew. There is a bakery is directly opposite that provided fresh rolls, croissant, milk etc for breakfast and lunches, with a supermarket about 5mims awwy. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful.
Would be happy to come back here.

Friendly and comfortable hotel

We have just spent a week staying in the Alte Schmiede, and had a lovely time. Manuela and family are very friendly, the rooms are very comfortable and the food is good. We were skiing and there is a ski bus stop close to the hotel. There are also two bakeries close by, in case you feel like some cake after an arduous day’s skiing! This was our third time skiing in Wagrain and we would definitely recommend the Alte Schmiede.

Superb !!!!

Had a great week's skiing here. Booking was easy via the internet and telephoned the Hotel to confirm the booking and Manuela, the owner speaks great English and very helpful. The hotel and the rooms we had were spotlessly clean and warm and very comfortable. There is access to free Wifi and TV in our rooms. We opted for half board accommodation and were not disappointed, the breakfast was superb and our 5 course evening meals were delicious and plentiful. The family and staff were all very helpful and service was excellent. We will definitely be returning.

Nicest 3 Day stopover

Kindest people, great service and good breakfast. Good location. Very good value.
Quality of beds (too soft) could be better.
Tripadvisor requires two hundred letters in a rating, so here is some filler, filler,
filler, filler, filler....

great food, comfortable accommodation in the best location

Had a great time here - Manuela and Hubert were our hosts. We also enjoyed the company of their staff including Gitty, Sabine and Silvia who served our meals and drinks.
Check out the great photos of the accommodation, restaurant, some of the meals and the ladies who greet you and serve you while you spend time at Alte Schmiede.
